A method of processing controlled source electromagnetic (CSEM) data is provided for reducing the airwave contribution. CSEM data are acquired, for example using a conventional towed source (4) and receiver (5) arrangement. The recorded data are weighted in accordance with the geometrical spreading of the airwave component. The differences between pairs of weighted data records are then formed.

There is described subsea apparatus and a method for processing fluid from a well. In an embodiment, a pipeline may be arranged to carry the multiphase fluid containing liquid and gas from the well. An outlet extending through a wall of the pipeline may let gas out of the pipeline from said region and through the outlet to separate said gas and liquid. A compressor may be connected to the outlet to compress the separated gas. Separated liquid may be conveyed along a sloping portion of the pipe to a low point in the seabed terrain, and may be conveyed to a pump for boosting the flow of liquid. The pump may be located in an excavated hole or glory hole below the seabed.

A method is disclosed for the estimation of subsurface temperature distributions from a 3-dimensional heat conductivity model for a geological formation. The method may be characterized by the following steps: (a) obtaining measured data corresponding to a geological subsurface formation of interest including seismic survey data, in-well temperature, seafloor or surface heat flux measurements and laboratory-based measurements of core porosity, (b) estimating a relationship between seismic velocity and heat conductivity, wherein seismic velocity is linearly dependent on porosity and heat conductivity is exponentially or linearly dependent on porosity, and (c) calibrating the model to the measured in-well data and laboratory-based measurements of core porosity.

The controller is configured to transmit a command signal to switch power at the subsea node using the identifier corresponding to the subsea node. This allows power to an individual subsea node to be switched on or off without affecting power to other subsea nodes. This is particularly useful where the system comprises a plurality of subsea nodes, each node of the plurality of subsea nodes being identifiable by a unique identifier.

The process involves the steps of - contacting the gaseous stream with liquid lean amine solution in at least one continuous flow stirred-tank reactor (10; 10a, 10b; 10c); - removing a sweetened gaseous flow from said continuous flow stirred-tank reactor (10); - removing rich amine from said continuous flow stirred-tank reactor (10; 10a, 10b; 10c) for regeneration; - passing rich amine solution through at least one flash tank stripper 20; 20a, 20b; 20c; - removing acid gases and vapour from said flash tank stripper 20; 20a, 20b; 20c; - removing lean amine from said flash tank stripper for recirculation to said continuous flow stirred-tank reactor (10; 10a, 10b; 10c).
