    摘要: Deactivation of a magneto-mechanical EAS marker is achieved by demagnetizing (degaussing) the bias element. The deactivator has typically high voltage capacitors in the LC circuit. The invention suggests to reduce the capacitor size in the LC circuit of the deactivator. The deactivator may thus be smaller, less expensive and the charging time of the capacitor may be reduced to approximately 7 ms.

    摘要: A deflection yoke having a capability of correcting a lateral inner pincushion distortion with a magnetic field generated by a deflecting coil itself is provided. The deflection yoke includes a saddle-type vertical deflecting coil 20 including a screen side bend portion 51, a neck side bend portion 53 and a cone portion 52 connecting the screen side bend portion 51 and the neck side bend portion 53 and is installed to a cathode ray tube. When viewing the screen side bend portion 51 of the vertical deflecting coil 20 from a screen side of the cathode ray tube in a direction along the tube axis, a distance between the screen side bend portion and the tube axis is the minimum at a portion 51a close to a diagonal direction of the screen. As a result, the lateral inner pincushion distortion can be corrected with a magnetic field generated by the deflecting coil itself with a simple configuration, without adding any component for correcting the distortion and increasing a deflecting power.

    摘要: An integrated electronic article surveillance (EAS) and people counting system including an EAS system, a people counting system, and an alarm management unit. The alarm management unit accepts the EAS data signal from the EAS system and a people count signal from the people counting system for facilitating correlation of EAS and people count data. A method of monitoring a passageway and an alarm management unit associated with an integrated system are also provided. There is also provided a people counting system for determining a direction of travel of people including first and second people detection devices and a controller. The controller provides an output representative of a direction of travel in response to the outputs of the first and second people detection devices.
