摘要: An actuator for opening and closing a door or a tailgate of a car comprises a helical compression spring and a motor. The helical compression spring is provided for opening a door or the tailgate of a car when compressive forces of the helical compression spring are released. The motor is provided for compressing the helical compression spring in order to close the door or the tailgate of the car. The helical compression spring comprises a helically coiled coated steel wire. The helically coiled coated steel wire comprises a steel core and a metallic coating layer. The steel core comprises a steel alloy. The steel alloy comprises between 0.8 and 0.95 wt% carbon, between 0.2 and 0.9 wt% manganese; between 0.1 and 1.4 wt% silicon; optionally one or more than one of the micro-alloying elements chromium, vanadium, tungsten, molybdenum, niobium or boron; optionally aluminum; unavoidable impurities; and iron. The microstructure of the steel core is drawn lamellar pearlite. The metallic coating layer comprises at least 84% by mass of zinc; and preferably aluminum.

摘要: The method for making a spring comprises the steps of providing a metal coated steel wire and forming the metal coated steel wire into a spring shape. The metal coated steel wire has a rectangular cross section with rounded edges. The rectangular cross section comprises four flat sides connected by the rounded edges. The metal coated steel wire comprises a steel core having a rectangular cross section with rounded edges, wherein the rectangular cross section comprises four flat sides connected by the rounded edges. The steel core consists out of a steel alloy consisting out of between 0.35 and 1% by mass of C, between 0.1 and 0.3% by mass of Si, between 0.4 and 1.20% by mass of Mn, the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities. The metal coated steel wire is made by wire drawing. The steel core has a drawn perlitic microstructure. The metal coated steel wire comprises a metallic coating layer. The metallic coating layer comprises an intermetallic layer contacting the steel core. The metallic coating layer comprises a drawn microstructure. The mass of the metallic coating layer is between 10 and 120 g/m 2 of the surface of the metal coated steel wire. The shape of the metal coating layer conforms with the shape of the steel core on the rounded edges of the rectangular shape of the steel core.

摘要: An elongated steel element adapted for the reinforcement of rubber products is covered with a ternary alloy or quaternary alloy coating of copper-M-zinc. M is one or two metals selected out of the group consisting of cobalt, nickel, tin, indium, manganese, iron, bismuth and molybdenum. The copper content inside the coating ranges from 58 weight percent to 75 weight percent. The content of the one or two metals inside said coating ranges from 0.5 weight percent to 10 weight percent. The remainder is zinc and unavoidable impurities. The one or two metals are present throughout the coating. Phosphorus is present on and/or in the coating in an amount of more than 1 and less than 4 milligram per square meter of the coating. The coating further comprises one or, ore compounds which complex with the copper in the coating to form an insoluble film on its surface. Good results are obtained for steam ageing and cured humidity adhesion. Furthermore, a corresponding method for manufacturing such an elongated steel element is disclosed.
