摘要:
A method of forming an aqueous solution comprising mircrofibrillated cellulose, the method comprising the steps of providing a substantially dry composite material, comprising microfibrillated cellulose and a filler material, wherein said filler material is precipitated onto fibers or fibrils of said microfibrillated cellulose; providing an aqueous media, wherein the method further comprises the step of lowering the pH value of said aqueous media and then mixing said aqueous media with said substantially dry composite material, such that the filler material is released from said microfibrillated cellulose, thus dissolving said microfibrillated cellulose; or the step of mixing said aqueous media with said substantially dry composite material, and then lowering the pH of said mixture, such that the filler material is released from said microfibrillated cellulose, thus releasing said microfibrillated cellulose.

The present invention relates to a method of producing precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) where a retention/strength enhancing chemical is added to milk of lime to form a mixture thereof prior to adding the mixture of the retention/strength enhancing chemical and milk of lime to paper making stock in a pipeline leading to a headbox of a paper making machine, whereafter carbon dioxide is introduced to the paper making stock, and the carbonation reaction between milk of lime and carbon dioxide is allowed to proceed in the presence of both fibers and the retention/strength enhancing chemical.

The invention provides a method of controlling retention on a forming fabric in a paper making process, an intermediate product for use in the method, as well as use of material for the intermediate product. For making the intermediate product at least one paper making chemical is added to a slurry of fine cellulose fibres such as micro fibrillated cellulose (MFC), the specific surface area of those fibres being larger than that of the fibres of the main fibrous suspension for paper making, causing the paper making chemical being adsorbed on the fine cellulose fibres. This intermediate product is then incorporated in the main fibrous suspension before the suspension is supplied from the paper machine head box to the forming fabric. Other paper making chemicals may be added to the fibrous suspension before or after addition of the intermediate product, so that interactions between different chemicals are prevented. The invention permits an increased retention in general as well as improved control of retention of paper making chemicals separately and/or in relation to each other.

A method for producing polymerizable olefinic monomers, in particular for production of tall oil based biopolymers such as polyolefins. The method consists of bio oil, with a content of over 50% of fatty acids of tall oil and no more than 25% of resin acids of tall oil, and hydrogen gas are fed into a catalyst bed. The tall oil is catalytically deoxygenated and the flow exiting the bed are cooled and separated into a liquid and a gas phase. The liquid phase, containing hydrocarbons, is subjected to steam cracking to provide final product containing polymerizable olefins. The deoxygenation in the catalytic bed can be followed by a catalytic cracking within the same bed or, with a suitable catalyst, the deoxygenation and cracking can be done simultaneously.

The invention relates to a heat-sealed package (1) of a polymer-coated fiber- based material, such as paper or paperboard, as well as to a packaging blank intended for its fabrication. The package comprises a bottom (2), side and end walls (3, 4, 5), as well as a top (6), and is formed by folding from a packaging blank provided with corresponding segments. According to the invention, the package is closed by sealing together the blank's abutted edge flaps in such a way that the latter make up a ridge (7) co-directional with the package side walls and protruding from the package top, the ridge constituting the only sealing line to hold the package together. The package can have its gables and bottom provided with fold lines for making the package collapsible at the gables and compressible to a flat condition when empty. The package is suitable for use e.g. as a candy, snack or lunch package that can be filled and closed at sales outlets.
