    摘要: The present invention concerns a mis-use prevention apparatus for a child restraint system, such as a carry cot 1 which can be transported within a vehicle. The apparatus comprises a user activated component 3, 20, such as a cot handle or backrest, which is movable between first and second positions. The safety of an infant lying within the cot within the moving vehicle is optimized when the user activated component is in the second position.
    A coupling 7 is provided for allowing connection of the child restraint system within the interior of a vehicle and means are provided for restricting access to the coupling when the user activated component is in its first position and only allowing access to the coupling when the user activated component is in its second position. In this way, the action of coupling the safety cot within the vehicle, necessitates having the user activated component put in the second position thereby optimizing the infant's safety.

    摘要: A child safety has a base (1), comprising a base inner shell (2) and an occupant support surface (4), and a back 6, comprising a back inner shell (7), integral backrest 8 and side wings (9). Base (1) and back (6) are pivoted together by hinge (10). Back (6) has a height adjustable a headrest (11), releasable by push surface (12) and provided with upper seat belt guides (14). The seat has two lower seat belt guides (21) at the junction between back side wings (9) and sides (22) on base shell (2). With back (6) pivoted as far forwards as possible (in Figure 2) guides (21) are defined entirely by invert U-section outer formations (24) which are moulded integrally with base inner shell (2). With back (6) reclined (in Figure 3) inner formations (25), moulded integrally with side wings (9), are visible and are accommodated inside outer formations (24). Inner formations (25) close the gap between outer formations (24) and wings 9 when the seat is reclined so that an adult seat belt B cannot pull between the shell mouldings. Invert U formations (24) comprise plain webs (31) and inner formations (25) comprise plain outer webs 34 and reinforcing flanges (35), which face inwards. The width of inner formations (25) is such as to allow clearance with the outer formations (24), but no more, for the back to pivot freely.

    摘要: A base for a child safety seat has a substructure (1) which comprises two tubular steel longitudinals (2), turned down at their front end as legs (3). Legs (3) telecopically carry inner legs (4) with feet (5). At their front end, longitudinals (2) are spaced apart by cross member (7). At the rear end of longitudinals (2) is a cross tube (11) and welded on to the ends of this are inner parts of ISOFIX latches (15). Inwards of ISOFIX latches (15) are carried steel struts (16). The base is latched to an adult seat via ISOFIX points L. When the base is latched on, the legs are adjusted to reach floor F, with longitudinals (2) close above seat squab S. An infant carrier (30) is engaged on substructure (1). Carrier (30) has a handle (31) attached to its sides (32). Longitudinals (2) are received in channels at the bottom edge of carrier (30). At the front (back with a rear facing carrier 30) of sides (32), corners (34) are received in ramp mouldings (22) clamped to the longitudinals (2) at the junction of the latter, legs (3) and cross member (7). The ramps are arranged so that in a frontal accident, the corners (34) ride up the ramp surfaces, giving an infant in carrier (30) a more vertical orientation. In use the top of infant carrier (30) is connected to the distal ends of struts (16) via latches (23) which are the primary securement of the infant carrier to the ISOFIX points.

The upper moulding comprises a pair of front humps (8) and a pair of rear humps (9) with a flat portion (10) between the pairs. The humps have moulded recesses (11) for the front and rear anchor bars (51, 52) of a conventional infant carrier (53). Below release button (61) the base has formation (71) for pivotal connection of foot prop (72) is clipped up under the base, anti-rebound flap (38) is folded against the prop and ISOFIX latches (34) are pivoted in towards the front of the base. For use, ISOFIX latches (34) are turned backwards, anti-rebound member (38) is swung around from below to above the base and foot prop (72) is extended down to abut the floor. To fit infant carrier (53), its anchor bars (51, 52) are engaged in recesses (11) and the infant carrier is pushed down to push hooks (45) away.
