摘要: A method for predicting failures in an industrial system (100), the method comprising the steps of a) providing an input time series (1) comprising a plurality of data points (t1, .., n, y1, ..., n), each data point containing a time stamp (ti) and a value (yi) of a variable W measured at the respective time stamp (ti); b) calculating fitting parameters (2) of a log-periodic power law model function W(t) (3) that give the smallest mean squared error mse (4) to the input time series (1) or to at least one subset (1a) of data points of said input time series (1), to obtain a fitted function (5); c) identifying the local maxima (Nmax) and the local minima (Nmin) of the fitted function (5); d) determining a trend (Tmax) from at least some of the identified local maxima (Nmax) and a trend (Tmin) from at least some of the identified local minima (Nmin), respectively; e) identifying whether or not a given data point (tn, yn) of the input time series (1) is a critical point (tc), wherein said given data point (tn, yn) is a critical point (tc) if both trends (Tmax; Tmin) have the same character for the last point (tn-1, yn-1) of the input time series preceding said given data point (tn, yn); and, if a critical point (tc) has been identified in step e), a step f) outputting a signal (7) indicating that a failure of at least one component (8) in the industrial system (100) was predicted.

The joint seal (3), starting from the plane of symmetry (S), comprises two limbs (3d) that extend at both sides in the peripheral direction (N), the two limbs (3d) extending over a total angular range of 20° to 180° and having a radially outwardly directed, arcuate limb outer face (3g). The joint seal (3), starting from the plane of symmetry (S), comprises a contact part (3b) that extends at both sides in the peripheral direction (N) and projects beyond the limbs (3d) in the axial direction (H), said contact part (3b) extending only across a partial angle of the two limbs (3d) in the peripheral direction (N). The contact part (3b) has a radially outwardly directed contact surface (3c) which is set back with respect to the limb outer face (3g) in the radial direction such that the limbs (3d) form a stop (3h) along the contact surface (3c), which stop is aligned in the axial direction (H). The sealing ring (2) and the joint seal (3) are adapted to each other such that, when assembled, the joint seal (3) rests laterally against the sealing ring (2) via the stop (3h) and that the contact surface (3c) of the contact part (3b) runs along the gap (2a) and covers same in the peripheral direction (N).
