    (b) vegetable oil in an amount of 5-40% by weight;
    (c) an aprotic organic polar solvent in an amount of 2.5-30% by weight.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a powder composition that acts as an activator in foundry binder systems comprising an aqueous solution of sodium silicate.
    The powder composition of the invention comprises sodium silicate having CAS Registry Number 1344-09-8 and a SiO 2 /Na 2 O molar ratio comprised between 3.0 and 3.6, preferably between 3.2 and 3.5, sodium aluminosilicate having CAS Registry Number 1344-00-9, and, optionally, additives.
    The invention furthermore claims binder systems comprising the powder composition of the invention and aqueous solutions of sodium silicate, optionally comprising additives, the use of said binder systems for the production of foundry moulds, such as cores and/or moulds, and likewise the moulding material mixtures for the production of foundry cores and/or moulds comprising the binder systems of the invention and silica sand and/or other granular refractory material.
    Furthermore, objects of the invention are a process for the production of said foundry cores and/or moulds, comprising a production step of the moulding material mixtures comprising the binder systems of the invention, together with silica sand and/or other granular refractory material, and a heating step of said moulding material mixtures, and the cores and/or moulds obtainable with said process.

    摘要: A description is given of an acid hardener which can be used in the preparation of furan resin-based foundry binder systems of the no-bake type having the following composition by weight:

    a) water   10-50%
    b) sulphuric acid   0.5-40%
    c) aliphatic hydroxy acid   10-60%
    d) arylsulphonic acid   0-20%

    This hardener eliminates or in any case reduces the emissions of aromatic hydrocarbons and benzene in particular which usually occur during the use of conventional furan resin-based binders.

    摘要: The present invention relates to synthetic resin-based systems, such as furan resins, to be used, in combination with suitable curing agents, as binders in mixtures with silica sand or other granular masses, for the production of foundry moulds and cores. In particular, one aim of the invention consists of the use of at least one alkyl ester of phosphorous acid and/or phosphoric acid and/or a salt thereof as an acidic catalyst for the manufacture of foundry binder mixtures, for example those of the 'no-bake' type. A further aim of the invention also consists of a mixture usable as a foundry binder, for example of the no-bake type, containing: a) monomeric furfuryl alcohol in quantities below 25% by weight of the mixture; b) formaldehyde in quantities no higher than 0.5% by weight of the mixture; c) at least one alkyl ester of phosphorous acid and/or phosphoric acid and/or a salt thereof.

    摘要: The object of the present invention is a method for the production of furan resins, useful for the preparation of binder systems comprising such resins in admixture with silica sand, or other granular substances, for the production of foundry cores and molds, or for the production of refractory bricks or refractory masses aimed to the metallurgical or glassmaking industry. The furan resins obtainable by the method of the invention are characterized by a low free formaldehyde content, which entails the advantage of reduced formaldehyde emissions under the conditions of use of the resins in the foundry.
    Further objects of the present invention are, therefore, the furan resins obtainable by the method of the invention, their use in the production of foundry binder mixtures, preferably for no-bake foundry binder mixtures, the foundry binder mixtures comprising the furan resins obtainable by the method of the invention, the foundry binder systems comprising the foundry binder mixtures mentioned above, the foundry cores and/or molds comprising the foundry binder mixtures mentioned above, the process for the production of said foundry cores and/or molds and the foundry cores and/or molds obtainable by said process.
