    摘要: A digital video cassette recorder (350) records a high definition signal having an MPEG compatible structure, such as a proposed Grand Alliance signal. In the recorded format an advanced television frame occupies ten recorded tracks. Reproduction at speeds other than the recorded speed is termed "Trick Play". Reproduction in a "Trick Play" mode necessitates a reproducing head crossing a plurality of recorded tracks. However, since the advanced television signal is structured as groups of pictures comprising one intraframe coded frame and a plurality of predicted frames, many of the recorded tracks contain data representing predicted frames. Thus an advanced television signal reproduced in "Trick Play" may represent a jumble of unrelated data segments. Operation in "Trick Play" may be facilitated by the selection of predetermined replay speeds and the allocation of specific locations within each track from which data may be reproduced. These specific track locations are utilized during recording to place advanced television image data for reproduction during "Trick Play" operation. Upon reproducing from each track of the recorded tape one of the normal (131) and "Trick Play" (132) image data is disregarded and the other one is selected (150) and output for additional processing.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a color cathode-ray tube (10) having an evacutated envelope (11) with an electron gun (26) therein for generating at least one electron beam (28). The envelope (11) further includes a faceplate panel (12) having a luminescent screen (22) with phosphor lines on an interior surface thereof. A uniaxial tension focus mask (25), having a plurality of spaced-apart first metal strands (40), is located adjacent to an effective picture area of the screen. The spacing between the first metal strands defines a plurality of slots (42) substantially parallel to the phosphor lines of the screen. Each of the first metal strands across the effective picture area of the screen has a substantially continuous first insulator layer (64) on a screen-facing side thereof. A second insulator layer (66) overlies the first insulator layer. A plurality of second metal strands (60) are oriented substantially perpendicular to the first metal strands and are bonded thereto by the second insulator layer. The first insulating layer has a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially matching, or slightly lower than, that of the first strands. The second insulating layer has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is substantially identical to that of the first insulating layer.

Such information is selectively recorded at normal speed in tape tracks within predetermined regions (HP1-HP5) so as to appear along a tape head scanning path associated with predetermined tape playback speeds greater than normal (e.g., 20x normal). Input high priority data cells may be reordered or duplicated for recording in the predetermined tape regions in other than received order. In either case, the input datastream is massaged to produce a viewable image in a fast playback mode. In an illustrated system for receiving an MPEG coded datastream, an output datastream at greater than normal playback speed comprises either intracoded I-frame data cells only, or a whole Group of Pictures (GOP).

    摘要: An East-West switching transistor (Q1) is coupled between a flyback transformer primary winding (W1) and a horizontal deflection output transistor circuit (250) to control retrace energy to obtain an East-West modulation of the deflection current amplitude as required for East-West pincushion raster correction. A pair of series coupled first (C4) and second (C6, C7) capacitors forming a capacitive voltage divider are coupled to a retrace resonant circuit (100) that includes the deflection winding (LH) via a sampling switch (D8), during a first half of a retrace interval, to produce a first ramping capacitor voltage in the first capacitor from a portion of a retrace pulse voltage (V2). The first capacitor is coupled to an East-West pincushion raster correction current source (301) for producing a second ramping capacitor voltage in the first capacitor that ramps in an opposite direction. A comparator (Q4, Q5) is responsive to the capacitor voltage for controlling a conduction interval of the East-West switching transistor.

    摘要: A sample of the high voltage retrace pulse is modeled across the series connection of a coil and low voltage winding of the flyback transformer. The AC current of the high voltage winding is fed through the coil in order to obtain the same retrace voltage shape as across the high voltage winding. Thus in this manner modeled high voltage retrace pulse is rectified by a diode and a charge capacitor. The rectified voltage is loaded by the beam current by a load resistor. The loading produces excellent tracking between the high voltage and the high voltage sample.

    摘要: A circuit for regulating an anode voltage (EHT) in an information display apparatus. A horizontal deflection circuit (10) has trace and retrace modes of operation. The horizontal deflection circuit further has a fixed retrace capacitance (CR1); and a series combination of a switched retrace capacitance (CR2) and a switch element (TR1), which combination is coupled in parallel with the fixed retrace capacitance. The switch element is in a closed position as the horizontal deflection circuit enters the retrace mode of operation. A voltage divider network (R1, R2) samples the anode voltage. A control circuit (20) is responsive to the sample voltage (V1) for controlling the switch element, such that the control circuit effects regulation of the anode voltage by selecting a time during the retrace period at which to place the switch element in an open position. The control circuit may also provide a raster width compensation voltage for an east-west pincushion correction circuit.
