摘要： A plurality of rollers (10) are carried by a support (11) and have friction wheels (12) fixedly secured, the wheels (12) being frictionally engaged by further friction wheels (16) which are slidably and non-rotatably carried on an input . drive shaft (15). Biasing springs (17) on the shaft (15) urge the wheels (16) into engagement with the wheels (12) and the bias of the springs (17) is adjustable by collars (18) on the shaft (15) to selectively vary the torque transmitted from the shaft (15) to the rollers (10).

摘要： A penumatic piston (11) has an output element (12) whose bore (17) provides a cylinder for a piston (18) which is secured to a fixed part (21) of the actuator and which has flow restrictors (22) through which hydraulic fluid is displaced as a result of movement of the output element (12). The restrictors (22) are normally shut by a valve (24) to provide a hydraulic lock which prevents movement of the output element (12). The valve (24) can be opened by an electro-magnetic actuator (27) which is energised in unison with a valve (13) through which actuating air is supplied to the piston (11).
