摘要:
Systems and methods for opportunistically charging a rechargeable power source of a portable electronic unit are provided. The system includes a primary inductance assembly energized by a main power source for inducing an electro-magnetic flux in a secondary coil assembly associated with a power source of the portable unit. Such electro-magnetic flux creates an electric current that is subsequently employed for charging the power source of the portable unit. A controller of the charging system can monitor state of charge, and notify a user when a recharge is required. Scavenging modes may also be employed for recharging the main power source and the rechargeable source of the portable unit.

A method and device for non-echo ultrasonic Doppler used for corrected inertial navigation includes providing at least one ultrasonic emitter within an environment, each emitter configured for transmitting an ultrasonic tone of a predefined frequency. An initial location of the mobile device is established within the environment. Dead reckoning procedures are initiated using sensors within the mobile device. The device receives at least one ultrasonic tone from an emitter, and converts the at least one ultrasonic tone into a digital waveform. The device determines at least one peak frequency of the digital waveform, and subtracts the at least one peak frequency from each predefined frequency to determine at least one Doppler shift, which is used for correcting the dead reckoning of the mobile device.

A method and device for aliasing ultrasound to produce audio tones includes a microphone circuit to receive an ultrasonic burst from at least one emitter in an environment. An analog-to-digital converter can convert the ultrasonic burst into a digital waveform. A digital signal processor can: provide an ultrasonic sampling frequency, alias the digital waveform with the ultrasonic sampling frequency to provide an audio signal, and detect the audio signal frequency. An amplitude of multiple audio signals can be used to locate the device within the environment.

A checkout system includes a workstation having a data capture arrangement for capturing through a horizontal window a target associated with a product to identify the product being checked out at the workstation, and a scale for weighing the product at the workstation. The scale has a scale mechanism, and a weighing platter on which the product is placed for weighing. The weighing platter is integrated with the horizontal window and overlies the scale mechanism. The weighing platter projects past the scale mechanism and has a front end that overhangs the scale mechanism. Non-threaded, interlocking connectors, which are provided on the weighing platter and the scale mechanism, prevent the weighing platter from tipping if a force is exerted on the front end of the weighing platter. The weighing platter is mounted on, and removed from, the scale mechanism without the aid of tools.

A wireless Bluetooth® paired connection is established between a Bluetooth® module in an electro-optical, handheld reader and a Bluetooth® module in a mobile terminal via a human interface device (HID) profile. Data capture from a target is initiated upon one type of manual actuation, e.g., a single pull, of a trigger on the reader. A soft keyboard is caused to appear on a display on the terminal, either immediately, or after a predetermined event, after the establishment of the Bluetooth® paired connection. The soft keyboard is caused to disappear upon manual actuation of the trigger with a different type of manual actuation, e.g., a double pull, of the trigger. Another double pull of the trigger will cause the soft keyboard to reappear.
