Said device protects the sensors and ensures that the connectors thereof remain completely watertight in all environments, including liquid and moist environments. Said device consists of two machined pieces which are fastened together. The first piece is shaped like the finger of a glove and tapered to form a point. The interior of the piece is recessed, forming a chamber which houses the sensor. The cylindrical part of the first piece is perforated with several holes, bringing the sensor chamber into contact with the outside environment. The part of the machined piece opposite the point is tapped and threaded. The tapping enables the sensor to be inserted. The thread fastens said first piece to a second machined piece which allows the sensor wire and connector to pass through. The device is completely sealed and can be inserted into the end of a stick or directly into the end of the wire. According to the invention, the device is particularly useful for protecting gas, pH and other sensors which are used in difficult environments, including moist, liquid and muddy environments, and said device is especially useful for treating waste products and composting.
