A sensor device (2) is designed to be installed in an outer wall, in particular in a front cover (10), of a motor vehicle (1) and is provided with a sensor (22) provided in a sensor housing (20), and a sensor protective cover (24) which is directed to the outside of the vehicle and is transmissive for signals which can be captured by the sensor (22) at least in certain regions. The sensor device is distinguished by the fact that the outer wall, in particular the front cover (10), is provided with an opening (18) or a recess which is designed to accommodate the sensor device (2) and that the clear width of the opening (18) is greater in the width direction and/or height direction of the motor vehicle (1) than the corresponding dimension of the sensor protective cover (24), with the result that a clearance (3) is formed between the edge of the opening (18) or recess and the sensor protective cover (24) in the installed state, which clearance makes it possible for the air stream to flow past the sensor device (2) installed in the outer wall, in particular in the front cover (10), at least in certain regions.

A vehicular display apparatus of the present invention detects a preceding vehicle travelling in front of the host vehicle, calculates the distance between the detected preceding vehicle and the host vehicle, and sets a highlighting indication to be displayed over the preceding vehicle in a superimposing manner. The vehicular display apparatus then causes the highlight level of the highlighting indication to be higher when the distance between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle is long than when the distance is short, and displays an image of the highlighting indication on a display area provided so as to overlap with the position of the front window of the vehicle.

The driving assistance device acquires, from an autonomous driving controller that determines an action of a vehicle during autonomous driving of the vehicle, action information indicating a first action that the vehicle is caused to execute. The driving assistance device acquires, from a detector that detects a surrounding situation and a travel state of the vehicle, detection information indicating a detection result. The driving assistance device determines a second action which is executable in place of the first action, based on the detection information. The driving assistance device generates a first image representing the first action and a second image representing the second action. The driving assistance device outputs the first image and the second image to a notification device such that the first image and the second image are displayed within a fixed field of view of a driver of the vehicle.

Provided is an information provision apparatus for a vehicle, the apparatus capable of providing information that fits the situation of the vehicle to a user. An information provision apparatus for a vehicle is provided with a vehicle-mounted device (10) which comprises a report means (77) for reporting various kinds of information including vehicle information to a user, and a control means (74) for operating the report means (77), and is connected to an external device (20) via a connection means (C). Upon receiving a manipulation input signal indicating that a start switch of the vehicle is turned on, the control means (74) operates the report means (77) in order to report to the user that a communication connection between the vehicle-mounted device (10) and the external device (20) is not established, until the communication connection is established.

The invention relates to a method for operating a communication device (2) for a motor vehicle (1), in which operating data of at least one operating component (4) of the motor vehicle (1) is provided by means of an interface device (3) of the motor vehicle (1) and transmitted to a mobile apparatus (8) disposed in an interior (10) of the motor vehicle (1), and the operating data is displayed on a display device (11) of the mobile apparatus (8), wherein it is examined by means of the interface device (3) if the motor vehicle (1) is operated in an autonomous drive mode, and if the motor vehicle (1) is operated in the autonomous drive mode, the mobile apparatus (8) is operated in a first operating mode, wherein the operating data is displayed on the display device (11) only in the first operating mode.

Contextual presentation of notifications within a transportation apparatus is disclosed. Driving information related to the driving of the transportation apparatus may be received. In some examples, the driving information includes speed, traffic, road condition, and/or environment condition information. Based on such driving information, a determination may be made with respect to presentation of a notification within the apparatus. For example, the notification may be determined not to be presented based on the driving information. In some examples, the determination may also include determining a format in which the notification will be presented within the transportation apparatus. In some examples, the format may include font size, color, type, blinking frequency, location on a dashboard screen and/or any other format information for presenting the notification within the transportation apparatus.
