    Abstract: The present invention provides the hydrotalcite particles of claim 1 and a process for its preparation.
    (1) General chemical structure formula

            [(Mg) Y (Zn) Z ] 1-X (Al) X (OH) 2 (CO 3 2- ) (x)/2 ·nH 2 O

    (2) Hydrotalcite particles have the average primary particle diameter of 150 to 250 nm.
    (3) Hydrotalcite particles have the average secondary particle diameter, d 50 , 1 to 2.5µm.
    (4) Hydrotalcite particles have a specific surface area measured by BET method of 5 to 40 m 2 /g
    (5) Hydrotalcite particles have an X-ray diffraction pattern in which the first peak (2θ) at a distance of the lower plate layer to the upper plate layer is 11.4 to 11.7 °, the second peak (2θ) at a distance of the interlayer material to the plate layer is 23 to 24 °, and the ratio of the distance of height of the first peak to that of the second peak is 2.10 to 2.65.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a metal alkoxide solution comprising metal alkyl carbonate groups. The solution are represented by the general formula M X [OR 1 ] Y [OOCOR 2 ] Z in which M X denotes at least one metal from the group M(I) A , M(II) B , M(III) C , M(IV) D, M(V) E , M(VI) F , M(VII) G which means the metals are selected from the group monovalent metal, divalent metal, trivalent metal, metal of higher valency such as tetravalent metal, pentavalent metal, hexavalent metal, heptavalent metal. It is preferred that M X denotes at least one metal from the group M(I) A , M(II) B , M(III) C , M(IV) D , even more preferably Mx denotes at least one metal from the group M(I) A , M(II) B , M(III) C . The term [OOCO] denotes a carbonate group and R 1 , R 2 denote alkyl groups with C1 - C60 carbon atoms, more preferably C1 - C20 carbon atoms, with X = A+B+C+D+E+F+G and Y + Z = A+2*B+3*C+4*D+5*E+6*F+7*G, whereby the solution is water free. in case that the metal species only contains a monovalent metal then the solution is formed by metal alkoxide and metal alkyl carbonate whereby the molar amount of metal alkyl carbonate, to molar amount of metal alkoxide ≥ 1 : 1, preferably ≥ 5 : 1, more preferably ≥ 10 : 1, even more preferably ≥ 50 : 1.
