Abstract: In order to improve the quality of stormwater, a stormwater management system (1) is adapted to be in fluidic communication between a stormwater source (45) and a well means (95), having a filtration means (20), having at least one stormwater inlet means (40), which is adapted to receive stormwater from the stormwater source (45), at least one influent sump means (5), which is adapted to receive stormwater from the stormwater inlet means (40), to physically and/or chemically treat the stormwater and to output influent-sump-water downstream of the stormwater inlet means (40), a biofiltration means (10), which is adapted to receive at least part of the influent-sump-water from the influent sump (5) means, to physically and/or chemically treat the influent-sump-water and to output biofiltration-water downstream of the influent sump means (5), at least one effluent sump means (15), which is located in the same construction (135) as the influent sump means (5) and which is adapted to receive at least part of the biofiltration-water from the biofiltration means (10), to physically and/or chemically treat the biofiltration-water and to output effluent-sump-water downstream of the effluent sump means (15) to the well means (95), and at least one sensor means (25), and/or at least one control means (30) and/or at least one communication means (35) to sense data, control and receive and/or send data, respectively, representing at least a physical and/or chemical property of and/or in the stormwater, the influent-sump-water, the biofiltration-water, the effluent-sump-water, the stormwater inlet means (40), the influent sump means (5), the biofiltration means (10), and/or the effluent sump means (15).

Abstract: Method of control and management for a plant system (1) for the purification of water for alimentary use where said system comprises a water purifier (2) having a filter having a definite life time and being subjected to exhaustion, a tolerance threshold of exhaustion being defined by a number of liters of water that can be purified (F). The system also comprises a feeding line (3) to connect said purifier (2) to the water network (5), a faucet (7) connected to the purifier line (2) to dispense purified water, a control unit (9), a display (11) connected to said control unit (9), a solenoid valve (10) placed upstream of the feeding line (3) controlled by said control unit (9), a transducer (6) for continuously monitoring a pressure variation on said feeding line (3) to signal the opening of the faucet (7), a flowmeter (4) located on the feeding line (3) between said solenoid valve (10) and said water purifier (2) and connected to the control unit (9). The control unit (9) monitors the numbers of liters of water that are being treated in the water purifier. When it reaches the number of liters that can be purified by the filter (F), the control unit (9) generates an alarm and closes the solenoid valve (10).

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method may include treating pulp in pulp and paper mills. The methods may include providing a peracetate oxidant solution and generating a reactive oxygen species. The peracetate solution may include peracetate anions and a peracid. In some embodiments, the peracetate solution may include a pH from about pH 10 to about pH 12. In some embodiments, the peracetate solution has a molar ratio of peracetate anions to peracid ranging from about 60:1 to about 6000:1. In some embodiments, the peracetate solution has a molar ratio of peracetate to hydrogen peroxide of greater than about 16:1. The peracetate oxidant solution may provide enhanced treatment methods of bleaching, brightening, and delignifying pulp fibers involving the use of peracetate oxidant solutions.
