Abstract:
A lubricant composition includes a base oil present in an amount of greater than 70 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the lubricant composition and an antioxidant. The antioxidant has the structure: wherein each X is independently C-A or N, so long as at least one X is N but no more than two of X are N. Moreover, A is H, cyano or an electron donating group that: (1) has an atom having at least one lone pair of electrons that is bonded directly to the aromatic ring; or (2) is an aryl group or alkyl group. Further, each R is independently H, an alkyl group, or aryl group and each R' is independently an alkyl group or an aryl group.

The invention relates to a grease composition including a base oil and a thickener that provides hydrophilic metal oxide particles and one or more amides which contain one or more unsaturated C—C bonds and/or at least one OH group. The hydrophilic metal oxide particles have a BET specific surface area of at least 10 m2/g and at least 80% of the hydrophilic metal oxide particles have a particle size in the range of from 5 nm to 900 μm. The amount of the thickener is in the range of from 0.1-40% by weight, based on the total weight of the grease composition. The invention further relates to methods for manufacturing the grease composition, and the use of the grease composition for lubricating bearings, gears and couplings.
Abstract:
The invention provides a grease composition for a wheel bearing, containing (a) a base oil consisting of a mineral oil and a synthetic hydrocarbon oil, wherein the ratio of the synthetic hydrocarbon oil to the total amount of the mineral oil and the synthetic hydrocarbon oil is 40 to 60 mass%, and the base oil has a kinematic viscosity at 40°C of 40 to 65 mm 2 /s; (b) a thickener of formula (A) wherein R 2 is diphenylmethane, and R 1 and R 3 , which may be the same or different from each other, each represent cyclohexyl group or a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 16 to 20 carbon atoms, with a molar ratio of the cyclohexyl group to the total number of moles of the cyclohexyl group and the alkyl group, expressed by [((the number of cyclohexyl groups) / (the number of cyclohexyl groups + the number of alkyl groups)) x 100] being 50 to 90 mol%; (c) an amine type antioxidant; and (d) an amine phosphate type antiwear agent.

Provided is a graphite-based carbon material useful as a graphene precursor, from which graphene is easily exfoliated when the graphite-based carbon material is useful as a precursor and from which a highly-concentrated graphene dispersion can easily be obtained. The graphite-based carbon material is a graphite-based carbon material useful as a graphene precursor wherein a Rate (3R) based on an X-ray diffraction method, which is defined by following Equation 1 is 31% or more: Rate 3 R = P 3 / P 3 + P 4 × 100 wherein P3 is a peak intensity of a (101) plane of the rhombohedral graphite layer (3R) based on the X-ray diffraction method, and P4 is a peak intensity of a (101) plane of the hexagonal graphite layer (2H) based on the X-ray diffraction method.
