Abstract:
Device for a combustion engine (1) comprising a piston (4), a piston cylinder (2), and auxiliary systems of a design known per se, and where the piston (4) via the piston rod (8) and a rocker arm (9) is coupled to a linearly movable induction coil (3) cooperating with a fixedly mounted permanent magnet (5), and which thereby is arranged to be able to produce electric energy when the piston (4) is displaced in the piston cylinder (2).
Abstract:
A power supply system comprises an internal combustion engine (100) and an electric motor-generator arrangement that is coupled to the internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine (100) has a piston-cylinder assembly in which the toroidal section-shaped piston (122) and cylinder (120) are each arranged to rotate, in use, about a common axis of rotation B with respect to a stator arrangement (129) of the associated motor-generator arrangement so as to generate an electric output. The piston (122) and cylinder (120) are also arranged to form a mass-elastic system that is capable of resonance and further arranged such that combustion in the combustion chamber (121) formed between the cylinder (120) and piston (122) can cause the piston (122) and cylinder (120) to oscillate relative to each other about their common rotational axis B.

Abstract:
[Problems to be solved] There is known means for converting the vibration energy of the body of a road vehicle to electrical energy, thereby improving the fuel efficiency of the vehicle but since these means cannot collect energy when an internal combustion engine is idling, they are not satisfactory as energy collecting means. Thus, it is a problem to be solved by the present invention to provide an internal combustion engine equipped with an electrical power generating member which can efficiently convert the vibration energy to electrical energy and can prevent spaces occupied by a piezoelectric element, rectifier and other power circuit components. [Solution] The problem can be solved by an internal combustion engine of a road vehicle, which is an internal combustion engine equipped with an electrical power generating member, the electrical power generating member is provided in a passive member subjected to the motion of an actuating member constituting a component of the internal combustion engine and the electrical power generating member is constituted to generate electrical power in response to motion of the actuating member and store the generated electrical power in an electrical storage device.
