Abstract:
A fitting (10,42,60) for use with a nut (32) with an internal locking mechanism (34) includes a first tubular portion (12,44,62) with a first end (20) and a first outer diameter for connecting to a first object; a second tubular portion (14,46,64) with a second end (22) and a second outer diameter for connecting to a second object; a transition portion (16,52,70) connecting the first tubular portion and the second tubular portion for fluid communication between the first tubular portion and the second tubular portion; and a plurality of pockets (24,48,65) spaced circumferentially around the second tubular portion to engage the internal locking mechanism (34) of the nut.
Abstract:
A winglet attach fitting may include a wing attachment portion, an upper winglet attachment portion, and a lower winglet attachment portion. The upper winglet attachment portion may be coupled to the wing attachment portion and may be configured to support an upper winglet. The lower winglet attachment portion may be coupled to the wing attachment portion and may be configured to support a lower winglet. The wing attachment portion may be removably attachable to a wing tip using fasteners.
Abstract:
A conduit fitting of the type having first and second threaded fitting components and at least one conduit gripping device, further includes a stroke limiting member that allows the fitting to be pulled up by applying a predetermined torque. In one embodiment, the stroke limiting member may realized as an integral or integrated load bearing member that functions as a torque collar and deflects under load. The disclosure also presents a gauging structure and method for fittings that can be pulled up by turns, by torque or both.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tapping screw to be coupled by machining a female screw and, more specifically, to a general-purpose tapping screw which can be used for all injection-molded objects such as synthetic resin or the like, flexible metal and hard metal. The present invention provides a general use tapping screw, which is a two-line screw having a cylindrical body, and main threads and auxiliary threads which are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the body, wherein the outer diameter of the auxiliary threads is 92ˆ¼97% the outer diameter of the main threads, the angle of the front flank surfaces of the main threads and the auxiliary threads is in the range of 12±3 degrees, the angle of the rear flank surfaces of the main threads is in the range of 25±3 degrees, the angle of the rear flank surfaces of the auxiliary threads is in the range of 20±3 degrees, and intervals between a first pitch from the main thread to the auxiliary thread and a second pitch from the auxiliary thread to the next main threads have a difference in the range of ±10-20%. The present invention also provides a coupling method using the same.
Abstract:
A front end assembly for a plasma torch and methods for assembling and disassembling a torch wherein a plurality of front end parts form a unit that is removable from, and installable in, the torch in a single operation without a special fixture. The front end assembly includes a nozzle retaining cup body connectable to a body of the torch, and a forward end connectable to a shield retainer. A nozzle retaining cup insert fits into the nozzle retaining cup body. The shield retainer has an inner surface for retaining the shield. A nozzle is received within the nozzle retaining cup insert. A stop on the nozzle engages the nozzle retaining cup insert when the front end assembly is removed from the torch so the nozzle does not remain in the torch. The shield engages an insulator, which engages the nozzle, to limit forward axial movement of the nozzle.
Abstract:
A method includes joining an integral bulkhead (20) and a blade shell (22, 24) to form a blade (12) and separating the blade into two blade segments at a location including the integral bulkhead such that each blade segment comprises a portion of the integral bulkhead and a portion of the blade shell.
