The media data encryption method comprises : obtaining media data to be encrypted and a display screen structure parameter of a data playback end; constructing a data arrangement table corresponding to the display screen structure parameter; performing a data rearrangement operation on the data arrangement table to obtain position rearrangement index data representing a mapping relationship between a logic and a physical position of a display pixel; and according to the position rearrangement index data, performing pixel rearrangement encryption on each image frame of the media data to be encrypted to obtain encrypted media data. The media data playback method comprises : a data encryption end encodes and encrypts media data to be encrypted by adopting a media data encryption method to obtain a media data encrypted packet, and sends the media data encrypted packet to the data playback end; a receiving card of the data playback end decrypts the media data encrypted packet to obtain configuration data and media data to be decrypted, and configures a programmable logic circuit according to the configuration data to decrypt and play the media data to be decrypted.
