Bei einem Haartrockner ist der hohlsäulenförmige elektnsche Heizkörper (7,22) außen um den Elektromotor (4, 19) für das Lüfterrad (20) herum angeordnet. Um eine gleichmäßige Temperaturverteilung im Luftauslaß (2) bei geringsten Herstellungskosten zu erzielen, ist die Mantelfläche des Tragkörpers (8, 25; 41, 42, 43) für die Heizwendel (10,44) mit Gruppen von Schlitzen (9) versehen, die um den Umfang verteilt auf einer Schraubenlinie liegend angeordnet sind, wobei die um den hohlsäulenförmigen Tragkörper gewickelten Heizwendel (10, 44) sehnenartig durch die Innenkontur des Heizkörpers verläuft. Um ein gutes Umströmen des Heizkörpers zu ermöglichen ist der Heizkörper im Gerätegehäuse (1) zwischen Traggittern (11, 12; 23,24)gehalten, wobei die Traggitter gleichzeitig der Halterung des Motors dienen. Der hohlsäulenförmige mit Schlitzen versehene Tragkörper (8, 25; 41, 42, 43) kann sowohl eine zylindrische, als auch eine prismatische Form aufweisen. Der Tragkörper wird aus einem ebenen die Schlitze (9) aufweisenden Mekanitstreifen zu einem hohlsäulenförmigen Körper gebogen, wobei die Enden des Mekanitstreifens miteinander vernietet werden. Die Bewicklung des Tragkörpers mit den Heizwendeln kann sowohl vor, als auch nach dem Biegen erfolgen.
