At least one of the components of the green tyre (100) is formed by supplying an elongated element (14) made of elastomeric material along a feed path. A piece (57) is cut from a head section of the elongated element (14), advanced on a conveyor (11 b) up to a forming drum (3) and deposited on a radially outer surface (3a) of the forming drum (3). The cutting comprises: depositing, between an abutment surface (32) and a coupling surface (42, 46) that are opposite each other, each of two portions (T, H) of the elongated element (14) situated on opposite sides of a transverse cutting line (S); cutting the elongated element (14) along such transverse cutting line (S) while the two portions (T, H) are arranged between said abutmenht surface (32) and said coupling surface (42,46).

The present invention refers to a method for controlling the laying down of components of tyres on forming drums, said method comprising: sending a first electromagnetic radiation (Ril) on a first laying down structure (3a) comprising a forming drum (2) and a first component (CI) of a tyre laid down on said forming drum (2); detecting at least a first corresponding reflected radiation (Rrl), determining as a function of said first reflected radiation (Rrl) a first parameter (PI) representative of a first main length (LI) of said first component (CI); comparing said first parameter (PI) with one or more pre-stored reference values; generating a first correction signal (SI) as a function of said comparison; sending said first correction signal (SI) to at least one preparation station adapted to prepare said first component (CI) to regulate the preparation of further components. An apparatus for controlling the laying down of components of tyres on forming drums is also described.

Um Fahrzeugreifen mit einer hohen Fertigungsqualität bereitzustellen, wird ein Verfahren mit folgenden Schritten vorgeschlagen: a) Bereitstellen eines ersten Reifenbauteiles (2) mit einem Servicer für die Reifenaufbautrommel (4), wobei vorab über eine Längenmessung die tatsächliche Ist-Länge des ersten Reifenbauteiles (2) bestimmt wird, c) Aufwickeln des ersten Reifenbauteiles (2) auf der Reifenaufbautrommel (4), wobei der Servicer das erste Reifenbauteil (2) auf der Unterseite der Reifenaufbautrommel (4) anlegt, übergibt und aufwickelt, wobei bei einer Abweichung der Ist-Länge von der Soll-Länge des ersten Reifenbauteiles (2) über eine Regel-Algorithmus unterschiedliche Transportgeschwindigkeiten (5, 3) an der Reifenaufbautrommel und an dem Servicer eingestellt werden, wodurch eine Längenanpassung des ersten Reifenbauteiles (2)auf der Reifenaufbautrommel (4) erzielt wird, wobei mit einem regelbaren Andrücksystem (1) des Servicers eine auf das erste Reifenbauteil (2) wirkende Friktion erzeugt wird, wodurch das erste Reifenbauteil (2) aufgrund unterschiedlicher Transportgeschwindigkeiten (5, 3) in seiner Länge gedehnt oder gestaucht werden kann.
