The invention provides a fabric comprising one or more polyesters optionally with other fibers which is treated with a finish comprising at least one fluorochemical stain repellent agent and at least one fluorochemical stain release agent, wherein the fabric maintains oil repellency and stain release capability after at least five industrial launderings at about 55 0C to about 65 C. The invention also provides a method of treating a fabric with a finish to impart oil repellency, water repellency, and stain release which is durable to repeated industrial laundering. The invention further provides textile articles comprising the treated fabric, and a method for industrial laundering of such treated fabric and textile articles.

A composition comprising a polymer prepared by: reacting (a) at least one diisocyanate, polyisocyanate, or mixture thereof, having isocyanate groups, and (b) at least one fluorinated compound selected from the formula (I): Rf1-L-X wherein Rf1 is a monovalent, partially or fully fluorinated, linear or branched, alkyl radical having 2 to 100 carbon atoms; optionally interrupted by 1 to 50 oxygen atoms; wherein the ratio of carbon atoms to oxygen atoms is at least 2:1 and no oxygen atoms are bonded to each other; L is a bond or a linear or branched divalent linking group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, said linking group optionally interrupted by 1 to 4 hetero-radicals selected from the group consisting of -O-, -NR-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -N(R)C(O)- wherein R is H or C1-C6 alkyl, and said linking group optionally substituted with CH2Cl; X is an isocyanate-reactive group selected from the group consisting of OH, -N(R)H, and SH wherein R is H or C1-C6 alkyl; and thereafter reacting with (c) water and (d) an isocyanate-reactive non-fluorinated particulate component.

The treatment of textiles by a fluoropolymer- branched silicone polyether composition is disclosed. The fluoropolymer - branched silicone polyether compositions are prepared by combining a fluoropolymer and a branched silicone polyether. The resulting compositions improve the hand or feel of the fabric without significantly diminishing oil repellency nor the stain release properties associated with fluoropolymers. The branched silicone polyethers can be used alone to improve the feel of fabrics, without diminishing the hydrophilicity of the fabric.
