摘要: A connector assembly 40 mounts a light bulb 20 to a fixture 22. The fixture 22 has an interior surface 24, an exterior surface 26, and an opening 28. The opening 28 defines a peripheral surface interconnecting the interior and exterior surfaces 24, 26. The connector assembly 40 includes a housing 42, at least one tab 44, and a flange 48. The housing 42 supports the light bulb 20 and has an axis 50, a first portion 52, and a second portion 54 spaced axially from the first portion 52. The tab 44 extends radially from the first portion 52 of the housing 42 and includes a first pair of electrical contacts 60, 62 for engaging a second corresponding pair of electrical contacts 30, 32 on the interior surface 24 of the fixture 22 as the first portion 52 of the housing 42 is axially inserted through the opening 28 in the fixture 22 and rotated about the axis 50 of the housing 42. The flange 48 extends radially from the second portion 54 of the housing 42 and has a seal 80 for axially engaging the exterior surface 26 of the fixture 22 as the first portion 52 of the housing 42 is inserted through the opening 28 in the fixture 28.

摘要: A bulb holder for a lamp assembly is formed from an electrically conductive sheet (42) having a hole (14) formed therein for receiving a bulb. A strip cut from said sheet (42) has a main portion (60), an end portion (66) bent through 180° so as to lie parallel to but spaced from the sheet (40) in alignment with said hole (42), and an intermediate portion (62) connecting the end portion (66) of the strip to the main portion (60). Adjacent ends of the fold lines (68, 70) are spaced apart from one another in said direction parallel to the fold lines (68, 70). This permits the bending of the strip (60) along the second fold line (70) to be effected by moving a press tool punch in a direction perpendicular to the main portion (60) of the strip.

摘要: An easy to assemble electrical connector, particularly for use in a lamp holder body, is provided. The electrical connector has two complementary body portions (10, 20) which fit together to form the connector, the first body portion (20) containing contact means (35, 36) for electrical contact between the connector and a target to be supplied with electrical current and the second body portion (10) containing retaining means to retain wires (30, 31) to supply current to the connector, whereby the wires (30, 31) can be maintained in electrical contact with the contact means (35, 36) when the body portions (10, 20) are fitted together, the retaining means comprising a plurality of slots (14), each slot (14) to receive one end of a wire (30, 31), and a channel (15) adjacent each slot (14) to receive a connector portion (34) of a conductor tag (32) attached to the end of the wire (30, 31) to be received in the respective slot (14), the connector portion (34) of the tag (32) extending substantially normally to the wire (30, 31).
