摘要: Techniques are described for detecting that a client device physically connected to a network device is "stuck," that is, the client device is not sending or receiving network packets with the network device. A network management system (NMS) receives current network statistics of ports of network devices with respect to client devices physically connected to the ports. The NMS identifies a candidate client device connected to a particular port of a particular network device for which the current network statistics indicate an issue. The NMS detects anomalous behavior of the candidate client device based on one or more features of the current network statistics, historical baseline statistics associated with the candidate client device, and peer statistics associated with one or more peer client devices of a same device type as the candidate client device. The NMS outputs a notification of the anomalous behavior.

摘要: A network device may receive transport layer messages from an ingress network device, and may determine whether a quantity of resources required for processing the transport layer messages exceeds a threshold level of available resources of the network device. The network device may generate a transport layer path error message based on the quantity of resources required for processing the transport layer messages exceeding the threshold level of available resources. The network device may provide the transport layer path error message to the ingress network device to prevent the ingress network device from providing additional transport layer messages to the network device.

摘要: A network device receives multi-destination packets from a first node and forwards at least a first of the multi-destination packets to another network device using a first multi-destination tree with respect to the network device. The network device detects that a link associated with the first multi-destination tree satisfies one or more criteria and, in response to detecting that the link satisfies the one or more criteria, selects a second multi-destination tree with respect to the network device. The network device forwards at least a second of the multi-destination packets to the other network device using the second multi-destination tree.

摘要: A first network device may receive a first advertisement of a network destination from a second network device and may detect multihoming with the second network device. The second network device may detect the multihoming with the first network device. The first network device and the second network may enable egress protection for the multihoming. The first network device may allocate, from a first pool, a protection group identifier for a group of multihomed network devices and may allocate, from a second pool, a network destination identifier for the network destination. The first network device may provide, to a network and the second network device, a second advertisement that includes the protection group identifier and the network destination identifier. The protection group identifier and the network destination identifier may cause the network to direct traffic for the network destination, via the group of multihomed network devices.

摘要: This disclosure describes techniques for improving speed of network convergence after node failure. In one example, a method includes storing, by SDN controller, an underlay routing table having routes for an underlay network of a data center and an overlay routing table having a set of routes for a virtual network of an overlay network for the data center, wherein the underlay network includes physical network switches, gateway routers, and a set of virtual routers executing on respective compute nodes of the data center; installing, within the underlay routing table, a route to a destination address assigned to a particular one of the virtual routers as an indicator of a reachability status to the particular virtual router in the underlay network. The SDN controller controls, based on presence or absence of the route within the underlay routing table, advertisement of the routes for the virtual network of the overlay network.
