    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized org. gas kind discrimination apparatus high in safety. SOLUTION: (M) detection units 21-2n are arranged along a vapor passage 1 through which arbitrary fuel vapor among (m) kinds (m>=2) of fuel vapors is passed. The light source part 21E of each detection unit irradiates a sensor member 21S showing inherent reflecting characteristics to one of (m) kinds of different fuel vapors through a first optical fiber 21F1 . The reflected light from the sensor member 21S is received by a second optical fiber 21F2 and the signal having the magnitude corresponding to the intensity thereof is outputted from a detection part. A signal processing part 3 compares these signals to discriminate what is the fuel vapor introduced into the fuel vapor passage 1.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preparation capable of carrying out longterm zero-dimensional release of an adrenocorticotropic hormone derivative useful as a peptide of psychotropic nerve action by using a drying method in water from an emulsion using lactic acid-glycolic acid having a composition ratio in a specific range and a weight-average molecular weight in a specific range. SOLUTION: A W/O type emulsion using (A) a solution or a dispersion containing an adrenocorticotropic hormone derivative [preferably L-methionyl-L- glutamyl-L-histidyl-L-phenylalanyl-D-lysyl-N-(8-aminooctyl)-L-phenylal anineamide- S, S-dioxide] or its salt (preferably acetic salt) as an inner water phase and using (B) a solution containing an in vivo degradable polymer having a free carboxyl group at the end as an oil phase is prepared. Then, the resultant emulsion is dispersed into an outer water phase to prepare a W/0/W type emulsion, which is then dried by drying in water. Furthermore, the outer water phase contains preferably 0.1-60(W/V)% osmotic pressure adjuster (preferably mannitol).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and profitably obtain an acetate ester useful as a synthetic raw material or intermediate for medicines and various compounds by reacting an specific OH group-containing compound with acetylimidazole in the absence of a solvent in a high selectivity and in a high yield with scarcely polluting an environment. SOLUTION: (A) A primary alcohol or a phenolic OH group-having compound is reacted with (B) acetylimidazole e.g. in an A/B molar ratio of 1/(1-2.2), especially 1/(1.2-2.2), in an opened air atmosphere at a temperature of -30 to 100 deg.C, especially 10-40 deg.C, to produce an acetic ester. When the component A is solid, the components A and B are concretely sufficiently ground with a mortar, etc., and subsequently leave them in stationary state for their reaction.

CONSTITUTION: The diagnostic agent of osteoporosis due to an autoimmunity is composed of a monoclonal antibody which specifically recognizes a human bone-specific sialoprotein or a polyclonal anitbody against the human bone- specific sialoprotein. The diagnostic agent is brought into contact with a body fluid sample, e.g. a serum, which has been sampled from a human being, and a soluble immune complex which is formed of the human bone-specific sialoprotein existing in the sample and of an auto-antibody which reacts specifically with the sialoprotein is detected immunochemically by using the diagnostic agent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable portable optical sensor for detecting vapor of organic solvent having a simple structure which can be manufactured easily at a low cost while reducing the size thereof. CONSTITUTION: The optical sensor OS comprises a light source section 2 and a thin polymer membrane 10 formed on the flat reflection board 8 of a sensing element 6 is irradiated with light emitted from the light source section 2. The light reflected on the sensing element 6 is detected at a light detecting section 4. The light source section 2, the sensing element 6 and the light detecting section 4 are supported integrally on a housing 12. When the thin polymer membrane 10 touches vapor of organic solvent, at least the thickness of the membrane 10 is varied. Variation of thickness is utilized in the detection of presence and/or concentration of vapor of organic solvent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the chemical resistance and surface hardness of polybenzimidazole by forming a coating of a polybenzimidazole solution on a substrate and baking the coating at a specified temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: At the time of formation of a polybenzimidazole coating suitably used as a heat resistant coating material for electric wires, etc., after a coating of a polybenzimidazole solution is formed on a substrate, the coating is baked at 300-550 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere. As a result, a polybenzimidazole coating with remarkably improved chemical resistance and surface hardness is obtained. A substance expressed by the general formula (n in the formula stands for 2 or higher integer) is used as the polybenzimidazole and, if necessary, an additive filler or a binder resin substance is added to the polybenzimidazole solution.
