Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve power transmission efficiency by preventing generation of heat through agitation of oil and an increase of wear resistance, by arranging an auxiliary speed change mechanism part of a three shaft type speed change gear at a position wherein oil does not stop.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic speed change gear 1 is formed of a first shaft 11 connected with a crankshaft of an engine through a torque converter 2, a first speed change mechanism having three stage forward and one stage backward and provided on the shaft 11, a second shaft 12 arranged in parallel with the shaft 11 above the shaft 11 slantwise, a second speed change mechanism (auxiliary speed change mechanism) 4 of an overdrive mechanism and a differential mechanism 5 having an output shaft 13. The speed change mechanism 4 is arranged upper than a center shaft (output shaft 13) of the differential mechanism, that is, upper than an oil level O/L. With this construction, oil agitation through rotary components is prevented.
