PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection system and more particularly an apparatus and a method for its fluid pressurizing unit.SOLUTION: Disabling of a fluid pressurizing unit of a fluid injection system includes retracting a plunger shaft, within a syringe of the unit, from a first position to a second position, thereby detaching a plunger from the plunger shaft, and disengaging therefrom within the syringe. The plunger shaft may have a groove, and the plunger may have an internal tab configured to removably engage the groove of the plunger shaft when the shaft is fully inserted into the plunger.

In general, this disclosure relates to techniques for implementation and use of a fluid connection assembly, having a locking mechanism, which may be connected to a medical fluid injection device. An example fluid connection assembly includes at least one fluid connector, a mating mechanism coupled to the at least one fluid connector and configured to connect the at least one fluid connector to a medical fluid injection device, and a locking mechanism coupled to the mating mechanism and movable into a locked position or an unlocked position. In this example, the fluid connection assembly becomes affirmatively coupled with the medical fluid injection device when the locking mechanism is in the locked position, and the fluid connection assembly becomes removably decoupled from the medical fluid injection device when the locking mechanism is in the unlocked position.
Abstract:
The invention is generally directed, but not limited to, a method system and apparatus that allows an operator to control an injection device and imaging equipement from a common control console. The injection device may be used to administer a contrast medium into a patient so that imaging equipment can acquire internal images of the patient. The invention may include an injection system that can be bundled with software and/or hardware that can be used to modify an existing imaging control console so that it can be used to operate both the injection device and imaging device. In one embodiment, the common control console can access stored protocols that can contain operational parameters for the injection device, the imaging device, or both. Consequently, the efficiency of the test and final quality of the images can be improved. Additionally, the combined control console will aid in the overall process of caring out the imaging tests.
Abstract:
In general, this disclosure relates to techniques for providing a mating mechanism between at least one pressurizing unit and at least one corresponding sleeve in a powered medical fluid injection device. An example powered medical fluid injection device includes a sleeve and an injector head coupled to the sleeve. The sleeve has a notch with a predefined shape and size. The sleeve is configured to receive a pressurizing unit (such as a syringe) having an external tab with a predefined shape and size that are substantially identical to the predefined shape and size of the notch in the sleeve, such that the tab mates with the notch when the sleeve receives the pressurizing unit. The injector head is configured to inject a quantity of a medical fluid from the pressurizing unit during operation.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which an operator can control an injector device and an image forming device from a common control console. SOLUTION: A system includes: (a) the injector device 906; (b) the image forming device 930; and (c) the common control console 910 operatively connected to the injector device 906 and the image forming device 930, which has a display unit and an input means, and thereby controls the injector 906 and the image forming device 930 and can be employed in order to receive data from the injector 906 and the image forming device 930. The system for image-forming by administering a contrast medium into a person allows an operator to control the injector device 906 and the image forming device 930 from the common control console 910.
