PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element wrapped body capable of improving insufficiency of rigidity of optical elements while suppressing increase of thickness of a liquid crystal display or deterioration of display characteristics of the liquid crystal display; to provide a backlight provided with the same; and to provide the liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The optical element wrapped body is provided with one or two or more optical elements, a supporting body supporting the one or two or more optical elements and a wrapping member wrapping the one or two or more optical elements and the supporting body. The wrapping member has a layer containing a block copolymer of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene and the ratio of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon to the conjugated diene by weight is 95:5 to 5:95. SOLUTION: A backlight unit 3 is housed in a tray 32 with its circumference surrounded by walls 32b of the tray so that a laminated optical sheets 33, 34, 35 and 36 can receive light from a fluorescent lamp 31. The top end of a corner A of one of the optical sheets 33, 34, 35 and 36 is formed in a shape in which the corner is cut by linear portions 33c, 34c, 35c and 36c between two sides composing the corner A 33a, 33b, 34a, 34b, 35a, 35b, 36a and 36b, and the wall 32b of the tray 32 has a corresponding surface 32c along the linear portions 33c, 34c, 35c and 36c of the corner A in order to correspond to the shape of the corner A of which the top end is cut, and constrains the linear portions 33c, 34c, 35c and 36c. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of bringing a conductive body to strong contact with a polarizing plate, thereby, securing continuity between both, moreover, preventing a stress from being applied to a display panel and suppressing the occurrence of display irregularity accompanying application of the stress to the display panel. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a liquid crystal material 11 is charged into a gap in the display panel constituted with a liquid crystal driving circuit substrate 14 and a counter substrate 12 which has no conductive layer and is in a floating state, and the polarizing plate 13 subjected to surface conductive treatment is disposed on the outside of the counter substrate 12, wherein the polarizing plate 13 is formed to be projected large from the contour of the display panel, the continuity with the surface of the polarizing plate 13 is secured on the outside of the contour of the display panel and the polarizing plate is grounded. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent liquid crystal display which causes neither light leak nor color variation even when environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity vary, by providing a transparent film which is nearly free from optical anisotropy, has little difference of physical properties between a machine direction and a direction perpendicular thereto, and ensures a small change in optical anisotropy and a small dimensional change of horizontal and vertical size due to changes in temperature and humidity. SOLUTION: A tensile modulus of elasticity of the transparent film in a machine direction is 2.4×10 9 -4.9×10 9 N/m 2 , a tensile modulus of elasticity of the film in a direction perpendicular to the machine direction is 2.3×10 9 -4.7×10 9 N/m 2 , and the ratio of the tensile modulus of elasticity in the machine direction to the tensile modulus of elasticity in the direction perpendicular to the machine direction is 0.80-1.36. An in-plane retardation value Re of the transparent film is ≤20 and the absolute value of a retardation value Rth in a film thickness direction is ≤25.
