Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of printing medium used for image formation when the image bigger than the printing medium is partitioned into a plurality of printing media and formed therein, respectively.SOLUTION: The image bigger than a paper is partitioned into a plurality of papers and formed therein, respectively, by the relationship of image size with the magnification. Then, when the paper with a margin where the image has not been formed is produced, the number of paper is reduced by way of forming the image to be formed in other papers in the margin concerned.
Abstract:
[Object] To provide a printing apparatus and a printing method in which printing onto a label surface can also be performed when backing up data in a non-volatile storage medium. [Solving Means] A printing apparatus includes: storage means having a first unit that holds a non-volatile storage medium therein and storing data in the non-volatile storage medium held in the first unit; printing means for printing an image on a label surface of the non-volatile storage medium whose label surface is printable; determination means for determining whether or not printing onto the label surface of the non-volatile storage medium held in the first unit is possible on the basis of a predetermined condition; mode selection means for selecting a backup print mode; and control means for, when the backup print mode is selected, controlling the storage means to store data to be backed up in the non-volatile storage medium held in the first unit, controlling the determination means to determine whether or not printing onto the label surface of the non-volatile storage medium is possible, and controlling the printing means to print an image based on the data to be backed up on the label surface of the non-volatile storage medium if the determination means determines that printing is possible and not to print the image if the determination means determines that printing is not possible.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a sheet from an appropriate tab sheet bundle even in a setting of an automatic sheet selection, when both of an ascending order type tab sheet bundle and a descending order type tab sheet bundle are held in an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: When a command for printing a tab sheet is included in print setting information, a kind of the tab sheet to be used in printing is determined from the print setting information. In the case a tab sheet alignment order setting is "ascending order", printing using an ascending order tab sheet is prepared. Also, in the case the alignment order setting of the tab is "descending order", printing using a descending order tab sheet is prepared. In the case the alignment order setting of the tab is "automatic selection", a kind of the tab sheet is decided from the orientation of an image and binding position information of a printing sheet, and printing using ascending tab sheet feeding or descending order tab sheet feeding is prepared. Then, it is determined whether there is a sheet to be used in printing in the image forming apparatus. If there is no sheet to be used in printing, sheet replenishment processing for displaying a message that there is no sheet to a user is executed. When the sheet to be used in printing is replenished, printing is started. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink from a digital printing machine, which is used in printing a variable drawing object, from being overlapped on an offset ink, which is used in printing a fixed drawing object, while preventing otherwise possible degradation of image quality. SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes an object generation means configured to, if it is determined that the print quality of printing of a variable drawing object by using a digital printing machine is within an allowable range, generate a variable drawing object by combining a fixed drawing object and a variable drawing object. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for implementing an improved package assembly. SOLUTION: A knowledge base is queried to obtain a two dimensional model (S205). A three dimensional graphic is converted to a two-dimensional expression (S210). A packaging rule set is accessed to obtain assembly rules (S215). Printing devices are instructed to apply the two-dimensional graphic expression (S220). Assembly devices are instructed to apply the assembly rules to obtain a three-dimensional package model (S225). The operation of the assembly devices and the printing devices are monitored (S230). If the modification of the application of the rules is required (S235), the application of the rules are modified (S240). One or more terms are determined from a user input (S305). Whether each term matches an attribute is determined (S310). All the terms from the user input are analyzed (S315). Attributes are selected (S320). A two-dimensional model is obtained (S325).
