    摘要： The locking mechanism comprises a locking element pivotally mounted on a carton conveyor for movment with it. The locking element includes a locking finger (60) for insertion into the base panels to form a lock. A rotatable cam disc (62) cooperates with a first follower leg (56) provided by the locking position. A second rotatable cam disc (66) cooperates with a second follower leg (58) provided by the locking element for pivoting the locking finger into a retracted position. The cam discs are located at spaced locations along the path of movement of the locking element.

    摘要： The wrap-around article carrier comprises a blank of rectangular configuration having lap panels at its ends. At least one combination locking and retaining tab is struck from one of the lap panels. At least one locking tab and at least one retaining tab are struck from the other lap panel and disposed in spaced transverse alignment with each other. The combination locking and retaining tab may be driven through the aperture defined by the retaining tab when the one lap panel is disposed in an outer overlapping position relative to the other lap panel. The arrangement is effective to form wrap-around carriers having girths of different dimensions.

    摘要： The wrap-around article carrier, partic. for bottles, includes a pair of spaced, parallel, transverse, frangible tear lines formed in its top wall. The lines extend downward into both sidewalls to define transverse end panels at each end of the tubular structure defining the carrier. A web panel is joined to an edge of each of the end panels by a fold line normal to the end wall. After rupture of the tear lines, the web panels are foldable inwardly into face-contacting engagement with the associated side wall, while the end panels swing to a position bridging the tubular structure. This forms a basket- type carrier.

The package has a wrapper of foldable sheet material which includes, for each container, a strip of material (48-51) extending between upper and lower faces of the container to provide a handle (58) by which the container can be grasped. Adjacent containers in each row are connected by their handle strips. At least one frangible zone is provided between neighbouring strips to permit detachment from the adjacent container without destroying the handle strip.
