    摘要: A centrifugal pump of the chopper type is disclosed which is structured with a chopper plate and impeller that are configured with an open eye or “hubless” arrangement such that processing of solids through the pump does not result in clogging of solids at or near the center of the impeller, thereby producing a dead zone. Because the configuration of the chopper pump of the present invention avoids the development of a central dead zone or clogging of solids, and provides for flow of solids and fluid through the eye of the impeller, pump efficiencies are markedly improved.

    摘要: An insert is provided for attachment to the inlet or nose of a pitot tube to withstand the wear and damage imposed on the inlet of the pitot tube by high velocity and high pressure fluid moving through the rotary casing and into the pitot tube. The insert reduces the amount of damage normally done to the pitot tube under normal operating conditions thereby extending the life of the pitot tube. When worn or damaged, only the insert needs to be replaced rather than the entire pitot tube as is done in conventional systems. The insert permits the machining of the insert to meet the specifications of a particular application, thereby providing the ability to control pump performance over a wider range of operational conditions.

    摘要: A precast prerotation basin system for use in a wet well for removing water or fluid therefrom is disclosed which comprises a prefabricated, three-dimensional body having a prerotation basin and fluid entrance channel. The precast prerotation basin presents an improvement over prior methods of forming prerotation basins downhole in a wet well because the basin system of the present invention is prefabricated, easily transportable and can be placed in a wet well without the need for providing a cement casing or floor beforehand. The precast prerotation basin of the present invention is pre-structured for accurate alignment of a centrifugal pump therein and eliminates the cost and inaccuracies of forming prerotation basins from molding cement downhole.

    摘要: In a centrifugal pump of the pitot tube type, a replaceable wear ring is positioned in the rotating assembly of the pump in that area of the rotating case which is most subject to erosion from the processing of abrasive fluids by the pitot tube pump. The replaceable wear ring can be easily and quickly replaced when eroded, thereby eliminating the need to replace the rotating case of the pump and eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming re-balancing of the pump.
