Abstract: A valve having a sleeve-like screening element for protecting an internal combustion engine against deposits in a region extending up from a hollow throat to a stripping edge. The screening element has a separate contactor guide surface for the combustion air supplied to the combustion chamber whose surface temperature is lower than the critical temperature for deposits at which fuel particles coke.
