Abstract:
A removable incandescent light bulb socket having: (a) a housing having at least first and second ends and an axis, having at least one opening at the first end, and the housing made at least in part of a heat-resistant material resistant to a temperature of about 90° C.; (b) threads within the opening for accepting and electrically connecting to a screw thread contact of an Edison base incandescent light bulb; (c) a central contact within the opening for electrically connecting to an electrical foot contact of the Edison base incandescent light bulb; and (d) first and second electrical contacts extending from the second end of the housing substantially parallel to the housing axis for mechanical and electrical connection to the electrical lighting base; and wherein the first and second electrical contacts have central axes and are positioned so that their central axes are approximately parallel; and further wherein the first and second electrical contacts each have a narrower proximal portion and a wider distal portion, the wider distal portion being configured to be accepted by the wider portion of the openings of the electrical lighting base and retained in the narrower portion of the openings of the electrical lighting base.
Abstract:
A lampshade having an assembled state and a collapsed state includes a first ring, a second ring spaced apart from the first ring when the lampshade is in the assembled state, and a first fabric covering interconnecting the first and second rings. A third ring is located adjacent the first ring when the lampshade is in the assembled state. A plurality of supports are connected between the second ring and the third ring. Each support has a first end portion movably connected to the second ring and a second end portion movably connected to the third ring. The supports hold the second and third rings spaced from each other. The supports urge the third ring into engagement with the first ring thereby to hold the first ring spaced apart from the second ring.
Abstract:
An irreversible electrical base for irreversibly converting an incandescent lighting product to a low-power lighting product is provided. Various methods of converting an incandescent lighting product to a low-power lighting product and converting a low-power lighting product to an incandescent lighting product, are provided. Various non-threaded incandescent light bulbs, non-threaded halogen incandescent light bulbs, and non-threaded LED-based light bulbs are provided. A keyless lighting fixture having an insert and twist connector is provided.
Abstract:
A light fixture, comprising a base, a plurality of arms wherein at least one of the plurality of arms is preassembled to the base and can rotate relative to the base to reduce packaging volume and an external support abutting the plurality of arms when in an in-use configuration, wherein the support prevents inward radial movement of the plurality of arms toward a central vertical axis of the light fixture.
Abstract:
A method of converting an incandescent lighting product to a fluorescent lighting product is provided. Exemplary method steps include: providing an incandescent lighting product having a frame carrying at least one electrical lighting base, the at least one electrical lighting base removably receiving a removable incandescent bulb socket, the at least one electrical lighting base also capable of removably receiving a removable ballast for a fluorescent light bulb in place of the removable incandescent bulb socket, and the at least one base having an associated removable incandescent bulb socket; removing the at least one removable incandescent bulb socket from the at least one electrical lighting base; and coupling at least one ballast and at least one fluorescent light bulb to the at least one electrical lighting base carried by the frame in place of a removed incandescent bulb socket to permit the lighting product to be used as a fluorescent lighting product. Other exemplary embodiments include a removable incandescent bulb socket having means for means for preventing the removable incandescent bulb socket from being re-coupled to an electrical lighting base.

Abstract:
A new lighting fixture is provided for illuminating a mirror or the like while creating the impression and feel of multiple swag lamps suspended on each side of the mirror. The fixture includes a pair of side lamp assemblies each of which is suspended from a corresponding support arm projecting from a mounting assembly positioned above and at the approximate center of the mirror. To provide compact shipping and easy assembly in the field, the side lamp assemblies are suspended by carrier links which are attached to their associated support arms by quick-fit non-screw unions.
