摘要: A process is described for isomerizing a feed which contains ethylbenzene and xylene, which process comprises the steps of:(a) contacting the feed under ethylbenzene conversion conditions with a particulate first catalyst component which comprises a molecular sieve having a constraint index of 1-12, the particles of said first catalyst component having a surface to volume ratio of about 80 to less than 200 inch.sup.-1 and the contacting step converting ethylbenzene in the feed to form an ethylbenzene-depleted product; and then(b) contacting the ethylbenzene-depleted product under xylene isomerization conditions with a second catalyst component.

摘要: Provided are processes for making one or more unsaturated oligomeric acids and one or more saturated hydrocarbons. In one form, a process for making one or more saturated hydrocarbons includes oligomerizing one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids having from 4 to 38 carbon atoms in the presence of a molecular sieve catalyst to form one or more unsaturated oligomeric acids including less than 90% by weight of cyclic oligomers, and hydrogenating the one or more unsaturated oligomeric acids via contact with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to form one or more saturated hydrocarbons. The oligomerizing of unsaturated fatty acids is from renewable biological sources to form dimer acids. The one or more saturated hydrocarbons are useful as lubricant base oils.

摘要: A process for converting feedstock triglycerides to lube basestocks. The process has the steps of (a) metathesizing the feedstock triglycerides with ethylene in the presence of a metathesis catalyst to form alpha olefins and medium-chain triglycerides and (b) hydroisomerizing the medium-chain triglycerides in the presence of a hydroisomerization catalyst and hydrogen to form methyl-branched triglycerides. The alpha olefins may be oligomerized in the presence of an oligomerization catalyst to form poly(alpha olefins).

摘要: The present invention provides a process for regenerating a spent aromatics alkylation or transalkylation catalyst comprising a molecular sieve by contacting the spent catalyst with an oxygen-containing gas at a temperature of about 120 to about 600° C. and then contacting the catalyst with an aqueous medium, such as an ammonium nitrate solution, an ammonium carbonate solution or an acetic acid solution.

摘要: A process for converting feedstock triglycerides to lube basestocks. The process has the steps of (a) metathesizing the feedstock triglycerides with ethylene in the presence of a metathesis catalyst to form alpha olefins and medium-chain triglycerides and (b) hydroisomerizing the medium-chain triglycerides in the presence of a hydroisomerization catalyst and hydrogen to form methyl-branched triglycerides. The alpha olefins may be oligomerized in the presence of an oligomerization catalyst to form poly(alpha olefins).
