摘要： A process for the preparation of polycyclic nitrogen-containing compounds of the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen or an organic radical, wherein a compound of the formula ##STR2## where Alk is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R has the above meanings, is reacted with a solution of an alkali metal hydroxide or of calcium hydroxide and the product is then oxidized.
