摘要: A forms engine allows data sharing between customizable on-line forms, such as college admissions applications. Before applying, an applicant opens an account with a third party application servicer. After the applicant completes an application for one institution, the data is saved in a data base and automatically populates fields in subsequent application forms. The form for each institution is created from a form description file. Each form is branded for its institution and forms for different institutions differ in appearance and content so that the presence of the third party servicer is transparent to the applicant. The system is extensible without programming, allowing new applicant attributes to be readily incorporated into the system and allowing the content and appearance of the application to be readily changed by changing the description file. The use of aliases for applicant attributes permits data to be readily shared between forms even though labeled and arranged differently on different forms. Information stored about each attribute allows the specification of data validation rules and data sharing and grouping rules, as well as dependency rules that permit application page content to depend on applicant's responses on a previous page.

摘要: A transaction web page method provides a transaction web page from a first server at a first service address to a user client computer where user-specific transaction information is incorporated into the web page in connection with a first transaction. A transaction sub-window is provided from the first service address in connection with a second transaction that is separate and distinct from the first transaction. The transaction sub-window is rendered adjacent to the transaction web page and is auto-populated with user-specific transaction information from the transaction web page. Upon user activation of the second transaction, transaction information for the second transaction is transmitted to a second server that is at a second service address that is different from the first server service address to provide processing of the second transaction

摘要: Space usage benchmarking is provided among multiple institutions, such as academic institutions or schools. The space usage information is obtained relating to usage of space by each of plural participating institutions. The space usage information is obtained as data output from scheduling databases of the participating institutions. A space usage benchmark is formed automatically from the space usage information. The space usage benchmark is then provided to a selected participating institution with a comparison of the space usage benchmark to the space usage of that selected participating institution.

摘要: The invention is a method and apparatus for encouraging applicants or others completing electronic forms to complete the forms and to become associated with the institution to which the form is directed. While completing the form or afterward, the applicant follows a hyperlink that presents a personal communication from an identified individual associated with the institution. The communication typically relates to the underlying purpose of the form rather than providing instructions on completing the form. For example, the communication may include a personalized message encouraging the applicant to attend the university. By varying the communication depending on the information entered onto the form by the applicant, the communication can be tailored to the specific background and interests of the applicant. The communication can also vary depending upon the applicants progress in the application process, for example, upon submission of verifiable payment information identifying the applicant, the applicant may be provided contact information to contact the identified individual.
