    摘要: A magnetic resonance sequence includes an interleaved slice-selective pre-pulse and a slice-selective multi-echo acquisition. This sequence is repeated with different delays between the pre-pulse and the acquisition resulting in a matrix of complex images. Based on this matrix T1 and T2 relaxations, proton density and the B1 field can be estimated. These quantified parameters enable synthetic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and form a robust input for tissue segmentation in computer aided diagnosis for MRI.

    摘要: A segmented MR image is provided by measuring a number of Magnetic Resonance Imaging parameters on an absolute scale. For example T1 relaxation, T2 relaxation and Proton Density PD can be measured on an absolute scale. The absolute values are then compared with known values for at least one type of tissue. For human tissue these parameters typically are in the order 300-4500 ms for T1, 50-1000 ms for T2 and 0-100% water for PD. Both T1 and T2 depend on the field strength. Based on a comparison between normal values for a particular type of tissue the values obtained for the image each pixel/voxel can be labeled with a certain probability that the voxel contains this type of tissue and segmented accordingly.

    摘要: In a method and a device MR images having various contrasts are scanned and then values for some or all of the parameters T1, T2 and PD related to the scanned MR images are determined. Based on the scanned MR images and the determined parameter values an initial conventional MR contrast image with some default scanner settings is generated, or alternatively, a stronger non-physical MR contrast image. The initial MR contrast image can then be manipulated by a user in response to movement of a user-controlled marker on a screen showing the contrast image such that a contrast optimized image can be obtained for a particular diagnosis in a very short time. Furthermore a quantitative image can be generated representing the amount of a single tissue type.

A method includes, from an MR scanner, obtaining at least three parallel, segmented gradient-echo acquisitions of a common acquisition type; in a computer, interleaving the at least three parallel, segmented gradient-echo acquisitions with a R1-sensitizing phase, a R2 sensitizing phase and a delay time; and in the computer, generating measures for R1 relaxation rate and R2 relaxation rate and PD from the at least three parallel, segmented gradient-echo acquisitions, thereby simultaneously estimating multiple physical parameters using the single gradient echo acquisition type.
