Abstract:
A method of synchronizing the arrival of copy sheets at a photoreceptor in an image processing having a copy sheet path having a plurality of segments coupled at given transfer zones, a plurality of copy sheet drives, an image transfer station, a photoreceptor and a controller. The controller directs the image processing apparatus by tracking the movement of copy sheets at the image transfer station in relation to the movement of the photoreceptor, monitoring the movement of copy sheets at the transfer zones, determining the need to adjust the spacing of copy sheets along the plurality of segments of the copy sheet path, and suitably activating selected copy sheet drives.
Abstract:
A structure formed from one or more bi-material cantilevers, having a first portion and a second portion positioned end-to-end, wherein the first portion comprises a first material positioned on top of a second material, and wherein the second portion comprises the second material positioned on top of the first material.
Abstract:
Provided are mechanisms and processes relating to intelligent variable resistance exercise equipment such as a weight lifting machine or weight training apparatus. In one example, a system includes a magnetic resistance mechanism that applies and varies magnetic resistance corresponding to gravity based weight resistance for a user performing a weight training exercise. The equipment may include data storage that maintains exercise profiles and a processor that adjusts the amount of gravity based weight resistance based on a profile identified for the user.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for controlling the torque of an exercise machine acting on a user is disclosed. The invention determines the torque which the user is able to exert at different positions and velocities, and develops a strength model of the user. Based on the strength model of the user, the invention determines a desired velocity profile for the user's exercise. The velocity profile may be chosen to maximize the amount of power output by the user or to provide whatever other type of exercise specified. The invention then controls the torque acting on the user so that the exercise is accomplished according to the desired velocity profile.
