摘要： A surgical instrument is provided, principally for use with endoscopic plastic surgery, and adapted for insertion into an incision for engaging subcutaneous tissue, fat, fascia or muscle (STFFM) through a remote access incision, grasping the STFFM, and enabling it to be moved to another location. The STFFM is grasped preferably by engaging it with a needle and passing a suture through it, with the suture being locked by engagement via a hook, all at a location inside the skin that is remote from the opening. This enables the sutured STFFM to be moved, in any direction, but most often toward the incision as the inserted portion of the instrument is removed. A vacuum and an external clamp are provided, for facilitating engagement of the portion of the STFFM that is to be sutured. The instrument is usable for facelift surgery midface surgery, brow surgery, neck lift, scalp reduction, endoscopic mastopexy, endoscopic thigh lift, endoscopic tummy tuck, and for any other technique where it is desired to shift STFFM from one location to another location, as for example, in the correction of undesirable liposuction results.

摘要： This invention pertains to gauge apparatus for measuring liquid levels comprising an elongated electrical sensor adapted to be arranged in upright position while immersed so constructed as to have an electrical resistance which may be varied. A spherical float is magnetically attracted to the sensor for rolling movement with respect thereto for varying the resistance in response to variation in elevation of float caused by changes in the level of the liquid. The resistance is measured thereby to provide an indication of such level. The magnetic attraction holds the float and sensor in operative engagement at all times including those during which the float changes height in response to changes in the level of the liquid being measured. The presence of different liquid is also detected in a given vessel, such as gasoline and water, and an indication and alarm of vessel overfill during a filling operation is provided.

摘要： This invention pertains to gauge apparatus for measuring liquid levels comprising an elongated electrical sensor adapted to be arranged in upright position while immersed so constructed as to have an electrical resistance which may be varied. The sensor is fabricated by providing a rigid elongated support and securing an elongated array of resistors thereto. A flexible layer of conductive material is then applied to the surface of a sheet of flexible insulated material after which the sheet is secured to the support with the conductive material facing the resistors. After the sheet is secured to the support, it is heated, whereby the sheet will return to a position in spaced relation from the resistors. Further, an elongated planar magnet is secured to the rigid support on the side facing the sheet. The magnet is polarized such that the surface facing the sheet has elongated contiguous opposite poles joined along a straight line. The array of resistors is mounted on the magnet surface.

The cleaner has low-voltage motors for driving, sensing means to sense contact with walls, and electronic logic means to direct the motion of the cleaner according to certain requirements. The Cleaner has a suction inlet, a strainer, and is connected by means of a hose to a relatively high-voltage pump above the water level. The logic means provides for lock-out of spurious signals, pause times, and turning by selected drive wheel reversals. Various modifications and board applications of certain of the principles are possible.
