Abstract: A system and method to select a modulation coding scheme of a mobile device including establishing a connection between the mobile device and a remote device through a wireless communication network, monitoring at least two measured properties of a radio frequency access link between the mobile device and the wireless communication network, selecting an updated derived C value based on the measured properties of the radio frequency access link, and inducing a change in a modulation coding scheme based on the updated derived C value.
