Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to language input correction. In one example process, a sequence of contact inputs can be detected via a keyboard interface on a touch-sensitive display. A contact input of the sequence of contact inputs can include a contact motion from a first position to a second position of the keyboard interface. A plurality of candidate words corresponding to the sequence of contact inputs can be determined. The plurality of candidate words can be ranked based on a probability that the contact input is an intended input to select a first key of the keyboard interface, and a probability that the contact input is an intended input to select a second key of the keyboard interface. A portion of the plurality of candidate words can be displayed for user selection.

Abstract: Systems and processes for providing spelling corrections are provided. In accordance with one example, a method includes, at an electronic device with one or more processors and memory: receiving a user input; obtaining a text string corresponding to a first symbolic system of a language; determining, based on the text string, a plurality of character segments, which includes a first character segment and a second character segment both corresponding to a same portion of the text string. At least one of the first character segment and the second character segment is a modified version of the portion of the text string. The method further includes determining, based on the plurality of character segments, a plurality of sequences of candidate words in a second symbolic system of the language; identifying a sequence of the plurality of sequences of candidate words; and displaying the sequence of candidate words for user selection.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to dynamic phrase expansion for language input. In one example process, a user input comprising text of a first symbolic system is received. The process determines, based on the text, a plurality of sets of one or more candidate words of a second symbolic system. The process determines, based on at least a portion of the plurality of sets of one or more candidate words, a plurality of expanded candidate phrases. Each expanded candidate phrase comprises at least one word of a respective set of one or more candidate words of the plurality of sets of one or more candidate words and one or more predicted words based on the at least one word of the respective set of one or more candidate words. One or more expanded candidate phrases of the plurality of expanded candidate phrases are displayed for user selection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes presenting content in a first application. At least a portion of the content is presented without requiring input from a user. The method further includes receiving a request to open a second application. In response to receiving the request, the second application is presented with an input-receiving field. Before receiving any user input at the input-receiving field, a selectable user interface object is displayed with an indication that the portion of the content was viewed in the first application, allowing the user to paste at least the portion of the content into the input-receiving field. In response to detecting a selection of the selectable user interface object, the portion of the content is pasted into the input-receiving field.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content are disclosed herein. An example method includes: detecting, via the touch-sensitive display, a search activation gesture from a user of the electronic device. The method also includes: in response to detecting only the search activation gesture, displaying a search interface on substantially all of the touch-sensitive display, the search interface including: (i) a search entry portion; and (ii) a predictions portion with one or more user interface objects each associated with a respective locally-installed application. Each respective locally-installed application is selected from among a plurality of locally-installed applications for inclusion in the predictions portion based on an application usage history associated with the user of the electronic device.
