Abstract: Battery cells according to embodiments of the present technology may include a cathode. The battery cells may include an anode including silicon particles. The silicon particles may be coated with a material physically and/or chemically bonding about the silicon particles to produce coated particles. The coated silicon particles may be formed into an electrode active material. The battery cells may include a separator disposed between the cathode and the anode. The battery cells may include an electrolyte.
