Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved chromatographic separation process for purification of a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) product and derivatives thereof. In particular, the present invention relates to a particularly efficient chromatographic separation process that employs silica having particular physical characteristics as an adsorbent phase for purifying a PUFA or derivative thereof from a feed mixture.
