Abstract: A process for producing alkyl trifluoroacetates The present invention relates to a process for producing alkyl trifluoroacetates by reacting trifluoroacetic acid with an alkyl alcohol R—OH in an aqueous solution, and wherein the alkyl trifluoroacetate is separated from the reaction medium by means of direct rectification. In one aspect the present invention relates to a process for recovering trifluoroacetic acid in the form of alkyl trifluoroacetates from aqueous waste-water streams of preceding chemical transformations.
