Abstract: An L10 type iron-nickel (FeNi) ordered alloy has an L10 type ordered structure and contains sulfur. The L10 type FeNi ordered alloy may have a sulfur content in a range from 0.01% by mass to 10% by mass. A manufacturing method of an L10 type FeNi ordered alloy includes performing a nitriding treatment to an FeNi alloy containing sulfur to obtain a nitride containing Fe and Ni.

Abstract: A magnetic material includes an FeNi ordered alloy. The FeNi ordered alloy has L10 ordered structure and is provided as an acicular particle having a longer axis and a shorter axis. A method for manufacturing a magnetic material including an FeNi ordered alloy includes preparing an FeNi disordered alloy provided as an acicular particle, and performing a nitriding treatment of nitriding the FeNi disordered alloy. The magnetic material manufacturing method further includes obtaining an L10-type FeNi ordered alloy provided as the acicular particle, by performing a denitrification treatment of removing nitrogen from the FeNi disordered alloy on which the nitriding treatment has been performed.

Abstract: An L10-FeNi magnetic powder has an average particle size of 50 nm to 1 μm, and an average value of sphericity P of 0.9 or more. The sphericity P is defined as P=Ls/Lr, where Lr is a perimeter of an L10-FeNi magnetic powder particle on an image of a microscope, and Ls is a perimeter of a perfect circle that has a same area as the L10-FeNi magnetic powder particle on the image for which Lr is calculated.
