摘要: A type cassette copier on which; pairs of aligned "floating" head and pinch roller arms are pivotally mounted within a housing adjacent pairs of aligned cassette receiving recesses and are simultaneously pivotable by a resilient connection to control lever arm; the control lever arm is operable through rewind, copy control and off positions; the head arms are operably connected to a drive mechanism for selectively driving rotatable spindles disposed in each cassette receiving compartment; the drive mechanism is adapted to be pivoted by the head arms for engagement of one magnetic clutch or another disposed on adjacent paired spindles, with one engaging position for rewind, and another for copying; a lever escapement cam, engaged by the free end of the control lever arm holds the lever arm in rewind or copy positions during each operation; a pair of electric motors drive the spindles and adjacent capstans through suitable belt drive means disposed in series with each motor; the motors are electrically connected in series with a source of current through means including a suitable servo system requiring only one velocity sensing means; a reciprocating head arm actuator is electrically operable between rewind and copy modes of each operation; tapered plastic fasteners are engaged in tapered colleted holes to removably mount various elements in place; and the head arms, motors and reading and recording heads are cyclable in sequence to rewind, record, rewind and stop.

摘要: A headset having an ear cup with a beveled spherical socket hole which rotatably supports and seats a spherical boom support swivel. The swivel consists of two half ball elements held in registration on an asymmetrical boom through gripping action of an asymmetrical hole in each of the half ball elements. Opposing ramp projections and sockets in the half ball elements bias the half ball elements in opposing rotational motion about the boom axis when the half balls are urged toward each other by a floating spring retainer plate thus producing a torque on the boom which is tightly gripped by the opposing half ball elements. Opposing outward projections on the boom mate with depressions in the half ball elements to prevent longitudinal sliding of the boom opposite the swivel and adjacent the operator's mouth. The swivel is rotatably held in the beveled spherical socket hole by the floating spring retainer plate having a flanged dish forming a ball seat swivel. Screws fastening the floating spring retainer plate to the ear cup adjust the degree of force on the swivel against the socket hole. A stop in the ear cup acting in conjunction with stops on the half ball elements limit travel of the boom to less than 360.degree.. An outward circular projection on each element of the swivel provides additional support for the swivel to prevent gouging of the ear cup by the boom.

摘要: An electret transducer is comprised of a motor and signal processing apparatus, that may include an amplifier and/or impedance matching means, disposed within a sealed conductive housing. The motor is fabricated in place within a housing and the signal processing means is mounted on the underside of the cover for the housing so that each may be independently tested prior to combining into a unitary structure. The motor is comprised of easily fabricated and assembled components that include means for spacing a backplate from the walls of the conductive housing and a spacer intermediate the backplate and the center of a diaphragm. The backplate and the diaphragm are provided with registering apertures. The amplifier is mounted to the cover to conductively connect to the housing and to provide rigid outwardly extending terminals for ready connection to further electrical circuits, as in a hearing aid. The component parts of the transducer are fabricated by half etching through the use of etching resist patterns that are placed in registering cooperative disposition on the surfaces of a flat sheet of material of which the components are comprised, to provide variations in thickness of predetermined portions of the finished components.

摘要: A magnetic tape player-changer for sequentially playing endless, multi-track magnetic tapes housed in cartridges. The player-changer includes a magazine housing a plurality of cartridges, and a track along which the magazine is moved to sequentially position cartridges in a playing position. The magazine is provided with a surface having a plurality of intersecting, curved grooves, and the player-changer is provided with a driven, revolvable cam which rides in the grooves. The cam and grooves are so oriented as to smoothly advance the magazine to position sequential cartridges in the playing position with little noise. The player-changer includes transducer stepping and step-counting means for advancing a transducer from one pair of tracks to another of a tape and for counting the steps so as to advance a new cartridge into the playing position when all of the tracks of the previous tape have been played. Means are also provided to reverse the travel of the magazine to its original position when all of the tape cartridges have been played. The principles of our invention are also applicable to rotary magazines for continuously, sequentially indexing magnetic tape cartridges to a playing position.

摘要: A vertically symmetrical tape guide for use on a base of a tape deck of audio-visual equipment. A locating pin on one of three triangularly spaced support members of the tape guide locates and aligns the tape guide in a hole in the base of the tape deck. A screw affixes the tape guide to the base of the tape deck. A contoured arm supports two horizontally extending fingers vertically spaced apart by the width of the tape to provide a guide for the tape when traveling across a tape head mounted to the base of the tape deck. The vertically symmetrical tape guide is configured so that the tape guide can be reciprocally mounted on either side of and adjacent to the tape head.
