Abstract:
A bathroom wall fixture has a mirror whose lower edge is secured in a pair of like supports each having a seat engaging and supporting the mirror. These supports each have an upper part and a lower part and together form the seat for the mirror and are formed with respective holding formations between which a horizontally extending bar may be clamped by screws vertically engageable between the upper and lower parts of these supports. Accessories such as shelves or the like can be fitted over the bar and positioned anywhere therealong, and this bar can project to either side of the supports for use as a towel rack.
Abstract:
A chaise lounge has a supporting unit whose longitudinal members are provided with rollers and are slotted to receive arms of a backrest which have pins selectively engageable in notches along these slots and whose free ends are engageable by abutments on the underside of the supporting unit to cantilever the backrest on the latter.
Abstract:
An article of furniture having a seat of a generally constant orientation but a back which can be tilted at various angles has a generally X-shaped relationship of the seat and back and, on each side a pair of horizontally spaced pins, affixed to the seat, one of which rides on the upper surface of a cooperating member of the back while the other can be selectively fitted into notches of a rack structure on the lower edge of the respective member. The upper edge or surface of these members have a cam configuration and the distance separating this edge from the bottoms of each of the respective notches is progressively increased downwardly along the rack so that the seat inclination is substantially constant for all positions in which the pins engage the notches.
Abstract:
A cupboard, chest or like article of furniture having a top, front wall, side walls and rear wall, has its top wall formed from a panel of wood composition completely encased in a sheath of synthetic resin which also forms a frame around the periphery of the top and is integrally molded with formations adapted to connect the top to the walls of the article. These formations can include tongues or blades adapted to fit snugly into hollows of the walls and/or spaced-apart lips or flanges adapted to receive a wall between them.
Abstract:
A device for holding a mouth-rinsing glass, toothbrushes and a tube of dentifrice comprises a molded synthetic resin body provided with two upwardly open mutually adjacent receptacles, one of which is dimensioned to receive a glass or cup while the other receives a tubular insert provided with at least two laterally extending ribs subdividing the second receptacle into a plurality of compartments each of which can receive the handle of a toothbrush. A tube of dentifrice can be inserted into the insert which is laterally open in the direction of the first receptacle to afford access to the finger of a user so as to enable him to remove the tube of dentifrice from the insert even when the tube has been shortened in use.
Abstract:
An extendable table has a legged base defining a horizontal support surface extending in longitudinal and transverse directions and having a pair of outer transversely extending edges, a first table panel resting on the support surface and having a transversely extending inner edge intermediate and generally parallel to the outer edges, and a second table panel restable on the support surface, having a transversely extending inner edge buttable with the inner edge of the first panel, and formed with a pair of transversely open and longitudinally extending grooves. Respective rollers on the base underneath the second panel define a transversely extending first pivot axis, and extend transversely into guiding engagement with the grooves. Thus the second panel can slide longitudinally relative to the base on the rollers and can be pivoted on the rollers about the first pivot axis. A pair of parallel links each have one end pivoted about a second transverse axis on the base and generally parallel to the first transverse axis and another end pivoted on the second panel about another transverse axis. Thus the second panel can move with simultaneous pivoting about the first axis and sliding perpendicular thereto between an inner position with its inner edge butting the inner edge of the first panel and an outer position with its inner edge spaced from the inner edge of the first panel. A leaf is engageable in the outer position of the second panel between the inner edges.
