    摘要: An in-line protection device for protecting fiber optic splices is disclosed. The device includes a rigid body having a central section with an opening sized to receive and house a fiber optic splice between two optical fibers from two fiber optic cables and an end portion having open ends to receive the optical fiber from the fiber optic cable. The fiber optic cables are connected to the rigid body by crimping a sleeve onto the cable and the end portion of the body. A strain relief device is placed over the end portion of the body and fiber optic cable to provide strain relief at either end of the splice protector.

    摘要: An interconnect system includes a transceiver module assembly that is mountable in an industrial receptacle. The receptacle mates to an industrial optical connector to form an environmentally sealed connection. The receptacle has an interior passageway and mating means for attaching the module assembly. The module assembly includes a spring-loaded module cage for receiving active devices, such as SFP transceivers. The spring-loaded module cage can adjust its position within the receptacle to accommodate different type of modules from various vendors. When attached to the platform, the module assembly is positioned so that the cage's open end is accessible through the receptacle's passageway. Users have the option of plugging/unplugging the transceiver module either through the passageway or by removing the module assembly from the receptacle.

    摘要: A replaceable module is provided for attachment to a standard fiber optic connector and an opto-electronic device on a printed circuit board. The module is mounted between the internal assembly and the external assembly of a fiber optic connector. The module is easily replaceable without requiring access to the interior side of the mounting panel and without requiring disconnection of the internal assembly from the opto-electronic device on the printed circuit board. Use of the replaceable module when connecting to an external device results in reduced wear on the internal assembly, thereby enabling an increase in the number of mating cycles that the internal assembly is able to perform.

    摘要: A sealed optical fiber connector assembly includes a connector housing that is uniquely configured to cooperate with a cable crimp tail and one or more terminal fiber optic connectors. The connector housing has a first opening for securely retaining the terminal fiber optic connectors. An interior passage connects the first opening to a second opening at the housing's other end. The interior passage allows the crimp tail to pass through the housing. The second opening forms a shoulder so that the crimp tail, after being pushed through the first opening and passage, can be rotated and seated against the shoulder. A cable seal securely holds the crimp tail against the shoulder. This provides a sealed and substantially stronger cable attachment. The connector housing is part of removable optical connector that provides environmental sealing when mated to a corresponding adapter.
