Abstract: A retention system for holding a light source lamp in a recessed luminaire includes a retention spring portion that is pivotally coupled to a light source holding bracket of the recessed luminaire. The light source holding bracket is configured to house a light source lamp therein. Further, the retention system includes a retention arm portion that extends from and is formed integral with the retention spring portion. The retention spring portion forces the retention arm portion towards the light source holding bracket such that the retention arm portion engages and applies an active load on the light source lamp that is disposed in the light source holding bracket to securely retain the light source lamp within the recessed luminaire.

Abstract: A luminaire includes a finishing section. The finishing section has a finishing cone that defines an internal cavity. The finishing section further includes a light source that is disposed within the internal cavity of the finishing cone. Additionally, the luminaire includes one or more retention devices that are coupled to the finishing cone. The one or more retention devices are configured to mount the finishing cone within a recessed can having one or more retention device receivers. The one or more retention devices include wire forms such as, but not limited to, spring wire forms and coiled wire forms. Alternatively, the one or more retention devices include a friction retention device.
