Abstract: A control device can include a user interface configured to receive first user credentials from a first user and an electrical device controller configured to control at least one electrical device. The control device can further include an access controller communicably coupled to the electrical device controller and the user interface. The access controller can receive the first user credentials from the user interface, and also determine, based on the first user credentials, whether the first user has a first authority to control the at least one electrical device. The access controller can also send, based on determining that the first user has the first authority to control the at least one electrical device, the first authority of the first user to the electrical device controller, where the electrical device controller allows the first user to control the at least one electrical device according to the first authority.

Abstract: A system can include multiple electrical devices that includes at least one sensor that measures a first parameter. The system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the electrical devices and the at least one sensor. The controller can receive a first measurement of a first parameter from at least one sensor, where the first measurement is associated with a first electrical device of the electrical devices; determine, based on the first measurement, that the first parameter falls outside a first range of acceptable values caused by a failure of the first electrical device; determine that adjusting at least one other electrical device compensates for the failure of the first electrical device; and adjust the at least one other electrical device from a default setting to a compensatory setting to compensate for the failure of the first electrical device.

Abstract: A lighting fixture for use in an automated store checkout system includes a light source, a camera, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to determine identifying attributes of a person from one or more images of the person captured by the camera. The control unit is further configured to transmit the identifying attributes to a controller and to provide a notification to the person via the light source based on a command received from the controller. The command is generated based on the identifying attributes.
