Abstract: A hinge system for a pivotable door is provided. The system includes a rod extending between a first end portion and a second end portion and a restraint receiving the second portion of the rod therein with the first end portion of the rod extending through an end cap on the restraint. A biasing member is disposed within the restraint between the end cap and the second end portion of the rod, wherein the biasing member is in a compressed configuration within the restraint, and wherein the first end portion of the rod is operatively engaged with a door pivotably secured to the cooking appliance, and the restraint is pivotably connected to the cooking appliance.
